Ditto question of the week:

LC Nidoking's Toxic still says 20 damage. I assume we place 2 counters instead.
master_trainer_pat says, "That's right"

If Brock's Ninetales is on the field with a Neo3 Aerodactyl on the bench, and the Brock's Ninetales has a Feraligatr and a Erika's Victrebell on it, could you have the Victrebell on top and still attack with feraligatr?
darkmaster_steve says, "Yes, has long has you have the right energy,"

If you play a Mary Trainer card but you cannot draw 2 cards from your deck, can you still play Mary and shuffle 2 cards from your hand back into your deck?
darkmaster_steve says, "Yes,"

Can you place clefairy doll during setup?
master_trainer_pat says, "Nope, just like with Mys. Fossil. It is not a Pokemon you can start with"

What happens if you try to play Mary with no deck?
darkmaster_steve says, "I guess you could borrow one, but she might get upset."
darkmaster_steve says, "but otherwise, you could use it."

There were a couple of good questions on the professor list this week; I'm going to re-ask them for the benefit of the general public. First off, Can Balloon Berry be used to retreat a Paralyzed, Confused, or Sleeping Pokemon?
darkmaster_steve says, "No. You have to be able to retreat normally to use the balloon."

In Team Play, if a player does something that causes his partner to discard a non-Colorless energy card (say, Pokemon Center) with Ecogym in play, would those non-Colorless energies return to the player's hand?
darkmaster_steve says, "Yes, they would get the energy back."
master_trainer_pat says, "We're ruling that it will work for
know...pretty powerful if you ask me. I won the Team Rocket's Meowth arguement though so I guess I owed Mike one"

When using Agility in Team Play, can you specify which of the opposing team's Active Pokemon is affected by the Agility effect,or does it HAVE to be the Defending Pokemon that you are attacking with Agility?
master_trainer_pat says, "It does have a you or your in it, so you would be able to select which opponent's active Pokemon it affects."
master_trainer_pat says, "Note that MT Mike may have answer some of these in the Professor e-mail but we did not get the answers from him."

Durring the team event at Origins, somone opened with an active Mysterious Fossil and a benched Clefffa. I asked MTM about this and he said it was ok. Did you just change the rule recently?
master_trainer_pat says, "That was the call at the time(we told you we knew that we would encounter things that we didn't have rulings for). I wanted to make sure the ruling was changed after this event because I felt that we never really clarified that you may not start with a trainer card as one of your starting Pokemon."
master_trainer_pat says, "That's really what this boils down to."

Regarding N3 Aerodactyl/Br. Ninetales: Could you please explain that ruling? It seemingly goes against past precedent (past evolution cards are null and void).
darkmaster_steve says, "N3 Aerodactyl says that any evolution card attached, so it does make a difference what other evo's are on, you could use their attacks."

if I have a lily pad mew on the bench and a different mew as the active, does the power work for the different mew
darkmaster_steve says, "No, self reference rule."
