[searches around for someone to update while he goes to pack] ah HAH! [grabs twinsen from pojo]

Wow, here's someone you don't expect in a million years to update for Zeo. ~_^

I was at the Hillsdale Yu-Gi-Oh Mall tour last weekend and met with Pure, JDGloom, and Ech (I think). I had a great time overall (especially when I found out who were the Experts)...

I had to play JDGloom on Saturday (at this point I still didn't know who he was or that it was Pure playing beside him). Anyway, it was a very close Duel and I won in the end.

On Sunday though, I finally learned who they were and managed to chat with them a bit. Unfortunately, Ech was judging some other event...

Anyway, the gang will head over to Seattle for the last and final Yu-Gi-Oh Mall Tour. Say "Hi" to them if you are going.

Now for a bit of Pokemon Update. We have today's Weekly Chat available for your easy viewing. Enjoy!

Back to pokemon....

TwInSeN21 over and out. ^_^;

 thanks twinsen! ^_^

anyway, this is the 'last' week of the ygo tour, and then we get a three week break....

anyway, for the last week the four of us are staying in seattle for another couple days. you know, catch up with the mikes from wizards... go teach pat's son to play pokemon... go to the place where you hit seafood with mallets... it'll be good fun!

and with that said, we're not sure when the next update will be... but hey, we deserve a bit of a break right?

...and in other news, i got my new powerbook g4 today.... i just wanted to add that in :)

have a good weekend, and in case we dont update for a while... week!

last update: 3am

well.... continuing on on our ruby and sapphire coverage (since thats seems to be what we're all kinda doing lately...) we have a very useful list from dunestar that destribes all the berries... in detail.

...i long for the days of gold berries... it was so much easier then.

hmmm.... now i was originally planning on putting the list right here, but... well, its almost 50 berries and 4 lines each... i think i'll spare you and post it on a seperate page ;)

berry berry good

man..... sooooo many berries.. so little time.... @_@

now when i said that we were just working on ruby and sapphire, it wasn't entirely right.... in fact, pure is working on something with the blanks.... hmmmm..... anyway, we have a poll about this over in the forums, so check it out and vote.

what the BLANK do you use?

[hands the update mic thingie over to pic, for a pre-recorded message]

yes, after months of preparation, it's finally time to announce...

zeo radio! , featuring your host, DJ pkmnx!

we've been planning this for a while. basically, it's your normal idea of a radio station, except that the songlist is determined by you, the listeners! the list, which will be updated (hopefully!) every day, can be found here . it's kinda meager and filled with DDR songs right now, but we will accept ALL requests!

IMPORTANT: the ONLY way your request will be heeded is if you E-MAIL (notice how that does not say post it on the forums) it to pkmnx (at) sugarshock.net (@ taken out for spam purposes). I'll check this regularly. in the email, and this is also important, list (without spelling errors!) the artist's name and the song title, but most preferably the MP3 file itself. I do NOT want to have to sit through 7 hours of downloading all your songs off Kazaa. so please, if you have any way of getting the mp3 yourself, like ripping it from a CD, send it along, zipped.

alternately, to get faster service, IM me (pkmnx) and send me the file. just tell what song it is first. either way, do NOT send songs with ANY expletives in them! I don't care if it's one mild one that's soft, I don't want a horde of your angry parents flaming me because they heard cursing coming out of your speakers.

so, to recap the submission rules:

-only e-mail (pkmnx at sugarshock.net) or IM (pkmnx) the files
-please, please send the mp3! only title/artist if you can't find it ANYWHERE
-up to 50 MB (over aim only please!)
-no expletives

isn't that simple? remember, I'll update the list as often as I can, so don't send files we already have...but aside from that, send LOTS of files! we want a BIG library!

now for the good part - the show itself. for the first month or so, the shows will be more promotional events than anything, erratically spaced and the like. aside from music, we'll try to have some interviews and whatnot as well, but no promises ;) if you'd like the make a song request, we will have a special chatroom set up (name TBA) in which you can do so; otherwise, it will be random play .

that's not all, though - we have CONTESTS! yes, contests, in which you can win...well, we'll disclose that later. but we will reveal the first contest now, which some of you may have heard of before: "trios"! it's a simple process: I'll run a 3-song set, all 3 of which share some common theme. the clue for each one may be the song name, the artist, or, rarely, something in the song itself. we'll use a real-time forum topic to check answers - but remember, you can only guess once TOTAL, and don't use multiple names, we can see your IP address! more details later.

also expect some cool features in the future like top 10 lists of songs, and other interesting stuff. use this topic for suggestions.

that's about it! the first show will be Saturday, April 5. to connect to the show, the best programs that we've found are Winamp (for Windows users) and iTunes (for Mac). basically, any program that can connect to a URL (IP address, actually) to listen to music. we'll be doing small test runs of music-only sets pretty soon, so if you want to test it then, you can.

so get sending with that music, and help support zeo radio! in its early stages.

last update: 2am

[ech looks at sapphire. then looks at the chatroom. sapphire. chatroom. sapphire. chatroom.

hack. you're updating.

[turns back to sapphire....]

hey all, it's hackman here for a zeo update... (looks at gba with sapphire) for a little bit anyways. it's been a week since r/s came out, i don't know about the rest of you but i've been playing mine kinda incessantly for the past week. logged 45 hours O_o

aaaaanyways it looks like there's not much to update with today. (thinks) hmm, maybe i'll bide time by seeing how much random r/s stuff i can spew out...

- every day, the berry master gives you 2 rare berries.

- the trick house has 8 possible stages. in this order (i think)... cut, rock smash, buttons opening doors, strength, trivia quiz, rotating doors, forced movement mats, slippery floors

- in lilycove, the museum curator will bring you to a room with 5 blank frames. what goes there? your pokemon! you have to win a master rank contest to get a painting done of your pokemon. it has a neat background too, and it's panoramic compared to the normal 'contest winner' paintings.
- the pokemon league consists of 5 trainers, the elite 4 and the champion.

their pokemon range from level 46 to level 56, so plan accordingly ^_^
- when you beat the pokemon league champion, the credits roll a la every other pokemon version to date. except... this time it picks random pokemon you've caught and shows them! so be entertained if you beat the league with a pokedex of 10, you'll see the same 10 pokemon over and over again...

- there are many many many many (yes, that many) braille tablets...
- there is absolutely nothing in pacifidlog town, except a TM you can get every 7 days (return/frustration)

- when you beat pokemon league, you have access to the battle tower. either have a team of three lv50 pokemon or a team of lv100 pokemon so you can enter. they don't accept legendaries though (kyogre at least, they MIGHT take the regis, since i saw one inside XD)

- ocean currents are fun

i think i've exhausted myself of ideas... (hugs jigglypuff plushie, given to hack by pure last weekend) well, that's all i have, till next time, take care!

[walks offstage, gives ech the mic, goes into a corner and turns gba on again]

Quote of the Day:
purity: macho brace?
Gloom: it's the training-binding harness thing.
purity: hm
purity: i wonder how you get the satin corset
hackman: oooh satin corset
Gloom: there's a satin corset?
purity: no
purity: but there SHOULD be

last update: saturday

well, its been a little over a week since ruby and sapphire were released nationwide, (and i STILL can't get past the third city....) and it seems like pokemon fever is swept the nation again.

the debut of the new pokemon games in rockefeller center last week met with several thousand people all anxious to see the new pokemon, and they weren't dissapointed as they were greeted by
mudkip, treecko, and torchic

NEW YORK, March 17, 2003 - Rockefeller Center certainly experiences its share of crowds, normally converging each year during the holiday season. With spring around the corner, the crowd this past weekend was boisterous and enthusiastic, but instead of waiting for the tree lights to flick on, more than 4,000 kids and their parents cheered and whooped it up as three new Pokemon characters made their first-ever appearances in the U.S. to celebrate the highly-anticipated North American launch of Nintendo's Pokemon® Ruby and Pokemon® Sapphire video games for Game Boy® Advance. Fans formed a block-long line at the Pokemon Center in New York where they were the first in the nation to be able to purchase the games, which will launch nationwide on Wednesday.

If the wildly successful pre-holiday launch in Japan is any indication -- four million copies combined sold within the first six weeks -- Pokemon fans stateside can expect to be equally as thrilled by more than 100 new characters, sophisticated graphics and two-on-two battle capabilities. And that's just the beginning.

According to Pokemon USA, Inc., President Akira Chiba, "The launch of Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire is an exciting time for us because these games set the stage for a number of initiatives this year -- our fifth movie, new trading card game cards and a whole new season of animated episodes on Kids' WB! We're reaching out to our loyal fans with new characters and new stories, yet the essential themes of Pokemon -- friendship, trust, competition and achievement -- remain center stage and will continue to attract young admirers."

There was an old-fashioned carnival atmosphere in the plaza where young fans dressed as their favorite characters, like Charmander and Meowth and yelled out answers to Pokemon trivia. A Radio Disney on-air personality introduced three new characters -- Treeko, Mudkip and Torchic -- on a stage surrounded by sculpted balloons, festive flags and the famous, yellow Pikachu VW cars. Team Nintendo walked the plaza in uniforms festooned with the new Game Boy® Advance SP handhelds, which allowed kids to demo the new video games on the yet-to-be released system.

With a nod to fostering creativity in kids, members of the YMCA of Greater New York were invited to customize statues of Pikachu, Ash's legendary yellow sidekick. The statues were set up gallery-style for viewing and judging, with themes ranging from disco to sports to the beach.

The release of Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire ensure that this year will be a gem for the brand -- literally and figuratively. As one of the most popular and enduring kids' franchises enters its sixth year in the U.S., with a total worldwide franchise revenue estimated at $1 billion last year, Pokemon continues to produce the goods that solidify it as a classic property for years to come. The Pokemon video library will expand this week with the release of Pokemon 4Ever on DVD and VHS, featuring a special 20-minute short called Pikachu's PikaBoo.

and the best thing to play the new pokemon games with is the new gameboy sp, which seems to be rolling off the shelves pretty fast. i didn't get much of a chance to use one, although i still think its too small for my hands, but from what i've seen, it simply looks amazing and if you dont currently have a gameboy and are in the market, you should seriously consider this one... its the same price as when the gba first was released almost two years ago, and it certainly is worth it.

if you haven't gotten it yet, you might have a hard time finding one in stores, but you should have no problem ordering it from amazon for under $100

get your gbasp before its too late!

also, for those of you who are serious harry potter fans, you'll be pleased to know that in addition to the order of the phoenix, being released june 21st, there will also be an extremely limited edition printing of only 350,000 copies (it may SOUND like a lot, but keep in mind that there is already 8 million copies of the regular edition slated for printing....)

the deluxe edition will feature a cloth cover with gold embossed cover, printed end sheets and special deckled edges.... along with a special case to protect it. with a retail price of $60 it might seem like quite a bit, but through amazon its actually a more reasonably priced $42, especially considering that this will be a huge collector's item.

harry potter, special edition

monday march 24th
last update: saturday

hmmm..... ok, i just got home, its like [checks] 3am sunday night (monday morning for you technicalists out there....) and we have marril's weekend update for you all!

Hey Zeo! Marril here again while those crazy four, Ech, Pure, Poinko and Gloom are cruising the streets of San Francisco spreading the fun and enjoyment of the Yu-Gi-Oh Trading Card Game. I am sure they will be back on Monday (March 24th) to tell us all about it. And just incase you are reading this and its passed Sunday March 23rd, well that’s because I am writing this on the Saturday before and its currently scheduled to be uploaded for tomorrow.

In the world of Pokémon news… well nothing really. Besides the small ripples of Wizards loosing the license and the next few expansions, and then some more waves about the news of Nintendo printing the cards now… there seems like there isn’t much to announce.

As you read in the Press Release and the Q/A from Friday posted by Ech, it seems that the ADV cards printed by Nintendo will have the card-e barcode. When I received the news in the mail I was kind of surprised. It kind of leaves the door open to speculate whether or not we will be seeing a brand new card layout (for the addition of the card-e barcode) or we will be stuck with the current card-e lamazon/index.htmls to come. Some have complained that they are tired of seeing a change in the layout every few sets, and I agree settling down on one look would be nice, but the think yellow boarder is just starting to get to me after a while :P.

The Press Release also brings promise to the future of Organized Play for the Pokémon TCG, although at this time it is unknown what the OP will be [hopes they keep the Professor Program].

That crazy Eric is back with some new and crazy art for you. Aaah! Run! It’s the crazy animated…

FURRET OF DOOM!

All for today everyone, have a great [insert name of day this is read here]!

-marril

okay.... since i've got space, and im not totally dead yet, lets tell you a little story about my weekend.

i arrive in san fransisco at 10am, and i'm supposed to get a limo service from the airport to the hotel. so i go to the arrival area, and dont see anyone holding up a sign with my name. so i wait. and wait. and about half an hour i had waited long enough, so i call the car service. the guy is really helpful, and gets me in touch with 'pedro', my driver.

[pedro] heeloo, thees ees pedro. where ees meester jackson?
[ech] um... i'm at the united terminal, where i arrived...
[pedro] pedro ees at air canada where eet says you come froom... why ees meester jackson not there?
[ech] uh... cause i didn't come on air canada, i came on united?
[pedro] oh, okay... meester jackson stay there and pedro come get him.
[ech] um... ookay...

so after about ten minutes pedro comes up, waving a 'mr jackson' sign in everyone's face that he passes (yes, everyone....) until he gets to me. so its cool. we go to the car (which, sadly was still parked at air canada.... its hard to get limo parking apparently. anyway, we're in the car and he asks me for my cell number so that mistakes like this never happen again. i think to myself that its an odd request seeing as how i'll most likely never see pedro again, but i humor him and give him my card with my number.

here's where the interesting parts start.

[6pm friday night, ech's phone rings][pedro] heeloo, meester jackson, zees ees pedro? where are you?
[ech] um... i'm at the hotel, where you left me this morning.
[pedro] cause pedro is suupoosed to peek up meester jackson, meester estrin and meester kruse at zee mall at five forty five and take you to zee airport, and you are not here, why ees meesters jackson, estrin, and kruse not here?
[ech] pardon? you're not supposed to.... oooooh! no no no pedro, thats not today, thats sunday. you're supposed to pick us up sunday at 5:45 and take us to the airport.
[pedro contemplates this for a minute] oh, okay... zat ees okay. so does meester jackson want to be picked up now eenstead? pedro weel come and get meester jackson and take heem to zee airport now...
[ech] uh... no thank you pedro. sunday will be good.
[pedro sounds dissapointed] oh... ok well if meester jackson needs anything he call pedro.
[ech] sure thing pedro....

now this would be all well and good... except that it goes on. sunday night the three of us are getting ready to leave, and the limo driver (not pedro) picks us up at the mall, when he was suposed to and everything is good.... or so i thought.

[6pm sunday night. phone rings. guess who?] meester jackson, eets pedro. pedro ees here at the mall to pick up meesters jackson, estrin and kruse and you are not here.
[ech] hi pedro. i didn't know that you were the one picking us up. the companysent someone else down to drive us to the airport.
[pedro] deed meester jackson not like pedro?! pedro ees sorry!
[ech] no no no.... nothing like that pedro, its just the company sent someone else to come pick us up. i had nothing to do with it.
[pedro] oh, ok. does meester jackson still want to be peecked up zen? pedro can steel do eet for you.
[ech] no, no thank you pedro. we're actually right at the airport now.
[pedro] oh, ok... well meester jackson call pedro eef you need picked up again, ok.
[ech] of course pedro... i wouldn't think of anyone else.

...so ends my pedro story.... for now.

Quote of the Day:
[gloom, after listening to the pedro story] i can see like three weeks later at one in the morning... 'heeloo... meester jackson... eet's pedro. pedro ees een trouble wit zee law.. meester jackson help pedro..
[ech] pedro, where are you?
[pedro] pedro ees een soome place weeth lots o cheese an peeople wearing leederhosen....
[ech] you DROVE there?!

friday march 21st
last update: 4am

TGIF! as in.... here's the friday update.... lets see what we have for you today.

hmm.... well, this made its way to me from 'pokemon usa' inc... and everything in the press release and faq seems to be legit, so it looks like this is nintendo's official statement that they are going to be doing pokemon advance cards... and sooner than you may think!

REDMOND, Wash., Mar. 20, 2003 &endash; Today, Nintendo of America Inc. announces new plans for marketing, sales and distribution of future editions of the Pokémon-e Trading Card Game (TCG) in North America. Nintendo is establishing a new division housed at Nintendo's Redmond, Washington, headquarters to manage the trading card business. Pokémon USA, Inc. based in New York City, will work closely with Creatures, the Pokémon TCG designers, and Nintendo of America in support of the TCG in North America.

The first expansion of the Pokémon-e TCG from Nintendo will showcase all-new characters from the highly anticipated Pokémon® Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire video games which launched for Game Boy® Advance on March 19 in North America. Nintendo adds the Pokémon-e TCG to existing e-Reader card products like Mario Party-e, Animal Crossing-e and the NES-e series.

The release date for the first Pokémon-e TCG expansion based on Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire to be published, marketed and distributed by Nintendo of America, is set for June, 2003. These cards will be compatible with Nintendo's popular e-Reader accessory, allowing consumers to access additional game information on their Game Boy Advance systems. In Japan, the new Pokémon-e Ruby and Sapphire TCG series, known as Pokémon ADVenture, launched on January 31, 2003 and received strong response from Pokémon fans.

"Pokémon video games and the Pokémon TCG are so closely integrated in North America that it makes sense for Nintendo to manage both key components," says Tatsumi Kimishima, president, Nintendo of America Inc. "Through innovations such as e-Reader, Nintendo is able to consistently enhance the synergy between trading cards and video games."

Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire are the first Pokémon video game titles available for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance system and will be available for an MSRP of $39.95 each. Game Boy Advance is available for a MSRP of $79.95, while the newest edition to the Game Boy family, the Game Boy® Advance SP will be available March 23 for an MSRP of $99.95.

"Since Nintendo already produces the Pokémon video games, it's a natural extension for them to distribute and market the trading card games," says Akira Chiba, president, Pokémon USA, Inc.

The creators of Pokémon, along with Nintendo, first launched Pokémon in Japan in 1996 for play on Game Boy, the world's best-selling video game system. Since then they've watched the original 150 creatures explode into a global cultural phenomenon, selling more than 110 million Pokémon video games worldwide. The franchise arrived in North America in September 1998.

Pokémon USA, Inc., the New York-based subsidiary of The Pokémon Company in Japan, manages and oversees the Pokémon franchise in North and Latin America, which includes licensing, merchandising, TV animation, theatrical releases, home video entertainment, the official Pokémon website, the Pokémon Center NY in Rockefeller Center and www.PokemonCenter.com, an e-commerce site. Pokémon merchandise has generated over $15 billion in worldwide retail sales since 1998. The trading card game has global sales of 9.8 billion cards to date. For more information about Pokémon, visit the company's website at www.pokemon.com.

As the worldwide leader and innovator in the creation of interactive entertainment, Nintendo Co. Ltd., of Kyoto, Japan, manufactures and markets hardware and software for its popular home video game systems. The systems include Game Boy®, Nintendo® 64, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo GameCube™. Since the release of its first home video game system in 1983, Nintendo has sold more than 1.6 billion video games worldwide, creating enduring industry icons such as Mario™ and Donkey Kong® and launching such franchises as Zelda™ and Pokémon®. As a wholly owned subsidiary, Nintendo of America Inc., based in Redmond, Wash., serves as headquarters for Nintendo's operations in the Western Hemisphere.

For more information about Nintendo, visit the company's Web site, www.nintendo.com.

and in addition to that, they also sent out a questions and answer sheet with... well... questions and their answers.

Q: When will the next 'series' of Pokémon-e TCG cards be available, and who will market and distribute the product?
A: The first Pokémon-e TCG release with Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire characters will be available in the North American market in June 2003. Nintendo of America will market and distribute the product. Pokémon USA and Creatures Inc. (the TCG designers) will support NOA.

Q: Is the Pokémon-e TCG compatible with the game product released by Wizards of the Coast?
A: The cards will feature the same card back, and the game itself is 100% compatible with previous releases.

Q: Will the new TCG products continue to be available where they are currently being sold?
A: In general, you should continue to be able to purchase the product where you have in the past.

Q: What will happen to leagues and tournaments?
A: Pokémon USA and Nintendo of America are committed to these programs. Our plan is to expand them throughout the year.

Q: Who will run Organized Play?
A: Pokémon USA, in conjunction with Nintendo of America, will run Organized Play.

Q: Where does one obtain information about leagues and tournaments?
A: An announcement will be made soon about the Organized Play programs starting with Pokémon-e Ruby and Sapphire TCG in June 2003. New programs will start with the release of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire. Keep checking www.pokemon-tcg.com for updates.

Q: Who should retailers and Tournament Organizers contact for future organized play plans?
A: Please direct all comments and questions concerning organized play to organizedplay@pokémon-usa.com.

Q: How do retailers obtain information about new product releases?
A: Product updates will be distributed by Nintendo Sales team. To request further information, e-mail pokemon-tcg@noa.nintendo.com.

Q: Who will distribute and market Pokémon-e TCG products outside of North America?
A: Pokémon USA will announce its international partners shortly.

Q: Why is The Pokémon Company switching marketing and distribution partners?
A: We are proud of the successes Wizards of the Coast and The Pokémon Company achieved working as close partners on the Pokémon TCG. As we move forward over the next few years, we want to expand the game play experience for Pokémon fans by using the e-Reader dot code technology to more closely connect the Pokémon-e TCG with the Pokémon video games. Working closely with Nintendo allows us to move the TCG game play experience in this direction.

now in case you didn't see it in the q/a.... apparently the english adv cards will feature dot codes to make it compatable with the e-reader.... which kinda asks the question, what happened to the japanese one? i mean there are clearly no visable dotcodes on the japanese cards...

anyway, while we are on the subject of questions and their respective answers we had the weekly wotc chat today. among questions about gencon, origins, lc2 and such, we also got to find out the answer to the question that has been plaguing everyone since the dawn of time....

who would win? ninja pirates or zombie cowboys?

i STILL dont agree with the outcome tho.... [scowls]

and while it may only be march, its not too early to start planning for this summer's events! we have a list of the pokemon events that are taking place at origins, along with the times, stipulations, and prices.... if you're planning on being anywhere this summer, make sure to be at either origins or gencon... you wont be dissapointed!

one of the last two events... :(

just twoooooooooo weekends left. san fran this week and then seattle next weekend and we're done... for now ;)

anyway, lets turn it over to dane, who is going to introduce our card of the day....

Hey Zeo! It's Dane… I am updating tonight. The update well is kind of dry, BUT we do have a card from Poinko. It's a Sunflora… a dork Sunflower. That craaazy Poinko.

tuesday, march 18th
last updated 11pm est sunday

Hey Zeo! Marril here again on this Sunday, and what a crazy week it has been. With the license loss with wizards, it has just been crazy for the last four days. Currently it seems that over on WizPog that some of the players are banding together to create a fan based Organized Play system, which sounds really cool. For those of you who don’t know, last Wednesday, wizards released a press release announcing that after this summer, Wizards of the Coast will no longer be licensed to print the Pokémon Trading Card Game, because The Pokémon Company and Wizards decided to go their own ways on this view. But this DOES NOT mean that it’s the end of the Pokémon TCG, I am sure shortly there should be word about another company picking up the license to print it. All the fans can do right now is to band together and take on the upcoming challenges. A thought to think about today: The Pokémon Company wouldn’t of kept passing down Wizard’s offers unless they really hand something up their sleeves, so lets just give it some time :).

On Tuesday the 18th, Pokémon 4Ever will be released on VSH and DVD in North America according to amazon.com. So far, the dvd kind of shocked me reviewing the page, because the lowest rating it got was four out of five stars on three reviews, this must be one of the best Pokémon films that the viewers seem to like. Anyways, the DVD includes some cool features such as the 20-minute Pikachu short, “Pokémon PikaBoo” (or better know by its Japanese release title “Pikachu's Hide and Seek”) which was not shown in theaters by Miramax, for unknown reasons. Also the DVD includes movie trailers, trivia games, actor/producer commentary and a DVD-ROM Trading Card Game tutorial (odd, just after wizards lost the license... hmm). Anyways, be sure to also pick up the DVD/VSH for the exclusive Suicune game card, which is the last card of the black star promo series (promos are now only released under the ‘best’ promo series). If you would like to see a scan, check out Pokemonboy2000’s post over at the…

[ech takes over the update for the ending]

Well, the news seems to be very slow other than the license loss and the DVD, Ruby and Sapphire will be out everywhere tomorrow (the 19th). in addition to that we will have more in the pokedex, like all the english names, as well as the abilities that the pokemon have.... the abilities really seem like a cool part of the gameplay, think pokemon powers, but only in certain situations or if the pokemon is in the right mood to perform it.

aaaand, snojoe has also given us a cool image of a pokemon ruby bookmark that he picked up yesterday. hmmm..... i wonder how one could get their hands on a sapphire one....

the perfect way to keep your place in the player's guide

Another great update falls in line and another great guest updater does it. Me, Spoon :D

First off, Pure, Gloom, Poinko, and Ech will be in San Diego this weekend. So if you live near that area, go over and say hello! Or else!

The Sprite Dex has been updated once again; it just keeps going and going‚ like that cute pink rabbit on the TV.

[ech note] we actually have all the sprites now, a lot of the english and japanese names, evolution levels AND sugimori pics of almost all the new pokemon.... have fun!

more-sugi!

And since today is Thursday; that means a new WotC Chat! Rejoice peoples; you have questions asked to the Master Trainers!!! Check it out; I think they discussed the reject of their license renewal

how many left?

That's pretty much all I've got in my hand. (I fold, haha) But if you want some mindless fun. Checkout ThinkGeek.com and Ponder over Ech's laundry. Always a good time. That's all for me, Spoon. Have a nice tomorrow everybody!

well do we ever have a full update today. it never rains, but it pours. ( i used to stare at the morton's salt as a child, trying to make sense of that slogan.....but i digress.)

anyways, it is me (pure) updating tonight. i went to the pokemon center today, and here is a little update on that....

this saturday, theres a big store event to commemorate the release of the games. i would have scanned the card, but, my scanner refused to cooperate. so! i summarize it here.

pokemon rocks!
rockefeller center march 15th, 2003

from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm, enjoy the following at the pokemon center:

• video game demos
• live on stage--radio disney's party patrol
• trivia challenge
• perform the pokemon theme song
• catch the debut of 3 new pokemon characters (i think the new starters)
• face painting and balloon sculptures (the balloon guy is awesome, btw)
• pikachu statue gallery display and judging
• great prizes, giveaways, and goodies
• and much, much more!
• come dressed as your favorite pokemon character or trainer and get a cool gift.

i talked to john a bit, asking about when we might expect to see some adv products in the store. they do have a few now, there are some t shirts and sweatshirts, posters, and puzzles. figurines should start to appear at the end of the month, along with baseball caps and things like that.

the catch em all station will go offline this weekend, while it's being refitted for the ruby and sapphire game carts. it will be out of commission for a few months....the final pokemon giveway was celebi.

hey! and with all that time playing r/s, i gathered some info for you, and i even set it out nice and neat on an html page for you. which is what i call thoughtful. take a look!

40 mins worth of playtime and informational harvest!

while we're on the subject of pokemon rocking, you might want to swing by and check out this contest. if youre under 18, can write lyrics and sing, you might just win yourself a lugia pt cruiser!

pokemon rocks! again!

at least ONE of you had better enter this!

what else.....we've added some more names and info to that sprite pokedex thing. go take a look!

poke-decked out!

this is something that will get updated frequently from here on out.

and while we're on the subject, poink has done some new art for it......

it's noctus!

what else...oh yes! we're moving the blanks over to megs' server. thanks megs! so those should be up sometime tomorrow. im sure at least a few of you will be happy to hear that.

the last item is one that, well....i can only hope isn't as bad as it sounds. :( i'll link to the press release, but i really have no insight i feel like offering at this time. they're talking about it over in the
forums, so if you like you can head on over there.....

future of the pokemon tcg?

i think it's a bit early to speculate about all of the potential reprocussions, but feel free to join the discussion. if you haven't previously posted at our forum, please do take the time to review the rules before you join. hopefully this can end up not being as bad as it seems at first thought. perhaps we'll hear a bit more in the chat tonight, or perhaps it will be too early to say. at any rate, wotc and the master trainers have done a really great job of keeping the game going, and i think they deserve a lot of appreciation for that.

that's it for today, i think. we'll see you all again tomorrow, and hope you all have a good day!

well, as promised today we have a reeeeally nice update to the pokedex, but first....

i was watching kids wb today and there was an ad for this saturday's pokemon special. much like they had the 'preview' of the gs pokemon and the johto journeys before it actually premiered, they are doing it for pokemon advance now, with a one hour special next saturday called 'who's that NEW pokemon'

in the short little trailer we got to see torchick, mudkip, treecko, and poochynea, and hopefully they will show some more pokemon in there as well... i dont know if we could have an hour of those four... although this IS kids wb we're talking about.

seems like this week will be a good one for pokemon. saturday we have the advance preview, as well as the official launch of pokemon ruby and sapphire at the pokemon center... then on tuesday its the nationwide release of r/s as it hits stores everywhere else, along with the release of pokemon4ever onto dvd and video. hmmm... in there you can also find the LAST black star promo, suicune.... or at least thats what i've been told...

sooo then, time to talk a bit about the pokedex pages.

thanks to a lot of work between pure and marril, (and i guess i did a bit...) we have a much updated pokedex page.

along with sprites of all 386 pokemon, we have a number of english and japanese names, original art, and now we also have sugimori art to go along with it too!

you are free to use any of the art on the page, but remember to properly credit the artist, whether it be sugimori, pure, eric, poinko, or someone else...

poke-decked out!

watch for this to continually be updated over the next week or so, as pure and i continue to work on the sugimori pics and as we get more of the official english names.

last updated 8pm est sunday... kinda

It’s Sunday and Marril is here again! And... Just incase your reading this and Sunday is not written at the top, that just means this update was later re-broadcasted at a later time than previously thought, so don’t worry about it… I am not that crazy yet ;-). This is the update where we like to share Pokémon news with the web… and if I can’t find anything Pokémon related, I will try to touch the Tech news of the week… so lets see what there is today!

>From tomorrow (Monday) it will be officially one week till Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire are released in North America! Whoo! Do you have your copy reserved yet? Well I don’t, I plan to take care of that some time this week. Speaking of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, later on this week ech should have a good Ruby/Sapphire Zeo’s Poke-dex update for you… which reminds me, I need to finish htmling my portion @_@.

And lastly in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire news today, Pokémon dot com has a new article up about the various contests your character in Ruby or Sapphire will encounter, plus the agricultural side of Hoenn (the region your are in for R/S, much like Johto for G/S). You can find that article up now over at:

That crazy Dark Mike over at wizards has another article up over on the wizards website about exploring the most recently released Pokémon expansion, Aquapolis. Its kind of neat to read, but it seems like the web team only uploaded a portion of the article o_O… anyways, check it out its now up over at:

Also we have an interesting post going on over on the Zeo Forums, about what Aquapolis means and where it falls into the story line. And good job to poke for stating the most obvious that aquapolis means water city… (Polis n. 1. A city-state of ancient Greece. Aqua n. 1. Water). Anyways, you can check it out over…

well that seems just about it for today, tune in later this week for a Ruby/Sapphire Zeo Pokedex update by ech, and more exiting stories from the crazy four on the Yu-Gi-Oh tour (Poinko, Pure, Gloom and Ech) from Los Angeles, the city that is used on the show Twenty-Four :D. have a great day,

-marril

ok.... we also have one teensy little update from shark, our anime guy that does anime....

as per tradition there is of course a new pokemon movie premiering in japan this year... conviently titled 'pokemon 2003' for now. anyway, up until recently, details have been sketchy at best, with only an outline of a featured pokemon being on any of the teasers

well finally, we have images [albiet a tad small] of the pokemon 2003 movie posers

i didn't know 2003 was year of the [yellow] rat...

i see gorudon... but where's kyorge?!

well, i posted this totally random question not relating to anything over the in forums today... but we'll also post it here as well.

just out of 100% complete curiosity who lives in any of the following places...

Portland, OR
Sacremento, CA
Los Angeles, CA
Phoenix, AZ
Denver, CO
Kansas City, KS
St. Louis, MS
Houston, TX
Orlando, FL
Atlanta , GA
Baltimore, MD
Cincinatti, OH
Indianapolis, IN

now of course this question is totally random and has nothing at all to do with aaaaaaaaaanything, but if you like, you can go answer in the topic on the forums....

poor poinko's computer blew up on monday..... :( he has been having problems with it for the past couple weeks, hence no new cards or art or anything.... but on monday it finally just died....

of course, yesterday he went out and got a nice shiney new ibook to replace it with.... mmmm..... zeo welcomes another mac into the family... anyway, it'll still be a little while until we see new art, since he has to get a scanner and everything, but dont worry... everyone's favorite dorks will be back soon!

and on another note, unfortuantly it'll still be at least a month before i get my new computer.... seeing as how the release date has been pushed back 3-5 weeks... yeah... i am finally planning on replacing my aging 1st generation powermac with a nice new 17" powerbook..... mmmmm.....

all i gotta do is refrain from going into apple stores before they are released so that i dont end up buying anything, just because i can....

[pushes shark into the limelight whilehe goes to get some coke]

Right.. I've been told that apparently we need to 'update' this site to maintain people going to this site or something.. so they called me again, good old Sharkdog.

of course update fodder WOULD be useful, but the lack of, is not useful..

[gets a strange look from Ech]

err... right... so uhh.. I was at a video games store yesterday, and guess what they had?!

[random person #1]: "Video games?"

.....well... yes... but they also had a GBA SP on display! score! so I spent a small bit of time there fiddling with the little bugger, and I like it. It's smaller then I thought and the screen is totally crisp and clean, and the front light is very nice and easy to use. I thought that the two mini shoulder buttons would be a bother, but surprisingly theyre not. I'm definately going to get one eventually I bet...

oh, but I dont suggest it to big people especially ones with big hands, I fear it might be too small for you ^_~ I guess It's made for average and little hands... not extremely little ofcourse.. like smurfs... but.. ah nevermind

In other news, Ive been a bit slow on making any Advanced Generation guides, but thats pretty much my school's fault.. yeah... Currently episode 14 is airing today in Japan,

That's all I got for now I guess, not much but I hope you still love me.

Drop me an
email if you feel the need to tell me how cool I am, err.. how cool my episode guides are..

[comes back with a can of american coke and some buffalo wings]

mmmm... you know american coke is sooo much different than canadian coke. seriously, it is. american coke uses corn syrup while canadian coke uses glucose... world of difference!

ok, so anyway, we're updating a couple of sections that we should have ready for tomorrow.... i hope.

as a number of people have noticed, the blanks are becoming even more sparadic in their appearances... unfortunatly qasic had to remove a lot of the blank from the forum's server because he was running out of space. it was either the forums or the blanks... i made my choice and i stand by it.

anyway, we're looking at some solutions to get some blanks back online really soon, so watch for that hopefully by the weekend, if not, tuesday for sure...

also, we've been doing a lot of work on the r/s pokedex, so we'll show you how thats coming along tomorrow.

until then... cheers!

welcome to wednesday's update! sadly, there is not too much content in wednesday's update to update with, but lets see what we have....

pure is visiting her parents in utah this week, so she has no internet access so to speak, but i talked to her today and it sounds like she's having a good time... and hopefully very relaxing too.

this weekend was great at the ygo mall tour. we got to meet spoon along with a couple other zeo viewers, and everyone in dallas was really nice... definatly one of the best stops thus far.

saturday night we went to angelos, a really great bbq pit. not nessisarily the best in ambience, but the food was great! it's also where today's quote of the day spawns from as well.

lets see... what else is there. oh right! on saturday i was able to buy some labrynth of nightmare packs before the event started, and i gave half to pure... well, sadly out of all my packs i got nothin'.... but pure on the other hand managed to pull the secret rare magic cylinder! woooooo!

anyway, right about now, thats all i have. i've been doing a bit of work on the pokedex and pure tells me that she's been working on her suit, along with working on more sugimori pokedex pics. before long, we will have all the new pics, and we're also working on the classic ones too.... hmmm.... hopefully it wont take too long before we have a complete pokedex full of sugimori, custom, and sprite pictures.

in the mean time, surf the
forums and have a good mid-week!

Hey Zeo! Its Sunday again, meaning marril is here to bring you the most boring update of the week… er most informative update? ^_^ Anyways, Ech, Pure, Poinko and Gloom are down in Fort Worth Texas this weekend, well when isn’t Poinko there ;). So if your at the Ridgmar Mall be sure to stop by and say hello, and I am sure they will be glad to meet you.

Well it seems that Wizards of the Coast will be releasing their own made set soon. This week in the Wizards chat, Dark Mike slipped out that there is a Wizards made set somewhere, but wont confirm when it will be released. My guess is the Wizards set should be released shortly after Skyridge, why? Well over on WizPog Dark Mike posted one of his riddle posts (a Modest Proposal), and the last time this was hinted in the past was for Legendary Collection and for the East Coast Super Trainer Showdown format (being Rocket On, which soon evolved into the older Modified). But when will it actually be released? I don’t know, but we do know that its there somewhere… within the dark depths of Wizards…

No real news in the world of Pokémon today… oh it seems that the Super BattleZone was a success according to Dark Mike and the numbers he has seen… hopefully it will be run again in May. So, lets take a look at the Tech headlines. It seems Microsoft is jumping into the P2P Sharing business with its new software called 3° (Three Degrees). From what I have heard, basically a bunch of people that you can trust all get together and can share one desktop, plus multiple play lists. The main thing is the sharing part…

In other tech news it seems AT&T internet in the New England area has been purchased by Comcast. Sadly, the press release I received list all available towns around my area except mine… which may mean I may not have Cable Internet access in the short future which won’t be good… but my guess is that it’s an error that my town wasn’t listed ^_^…

Well that’s it for today, sorry for the lack of Pokémon news and Fake Cards, hopefully next week will have a fake card for you and some good news info.

-marril
