First Aid is at hand Hmmmm... how coincidental... Blissey is the card of the day at zeo, and also it happens to be the feature Pokemon on the Anime in Canada tonight. So then, here's a useful Blissey, and somewhat fun, in my opinion.

according to gaming age,
there will be a pokemon game for game boy advance is due out
for next year. hurrah! they also had some pictures of three
new pokemon..... finally!!! a lizard pokemon!!! :D new meaning to the term "beach ball" anways, we're probably the last site to have these up, but we had em so we're gonna use em. so there! hehe....
map of the tcg2 world..... as far as info on the game
itself, it appears that like crystal, you can choose to play
as a girl. most of us girls are happy to hear that ;). it
will offer more varied gameplay as well, with more
challengers (90 as opposed to 50 in the previous game.)
also, apparently if you re-challenge someone, they will
switch decks! this gives a lot more variation to the game.
the new game will still have the card pop feature as
well.
As of now, there are a more archetypes in the environment then there has been in a long time. Discovery will open the door for even MORE archetypes.
Let's take a look at some of the cards. (NOTE: The below spoilers are un-official and not deemed by Wizards of ther Coast. These spoilers are NOT the actual card names, texts, etc. that will appear on the English version of the cards... Spoilers are provided by Edo's Small Pokemon Page found at http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Alley/2247/Neo3)
Well, since there are SO many cards that are good, we'll take a look at some of the best.
MasterMarril2k (2:47 PM): Beedrill L36 Stage 2 -- Kakuna 80 HP Retreat: 0 Type: Grass Weakness: Fire Resistantce: Fighting -30 [G] Cutting Poison ( ) Flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned. Instead of taking 10 damage when the Pokemon takes damage for Poison, it will now take 30 damage. If tails, this attack does nothing. [GG1] Pin Missle (20x) Flip 4 coins. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads.
WHOA! Let's ignore everything else and look at the stats real quick. 80 HP is decent for a Stage 2 Pokemon, nothing to turn your head at. Then we see the 0 retreat. That alone makes this Pokemon a nice device. Last, we see that awesome resistance to Fighting which has made the use of Hitmonchan a null and void deal.
However, all of this asside, the first attack is what makes this Pokemon so great. 30 damage per turn is something that can NOT be passed up. Your opponent HAS to retreat or they will be KOd in 4 turns at the very most (this is assuming no Trainer cards are used.) Speedrill will be an archetype of its own now.
Forrestress Stage 1 -- Pineco 80 HP Retreat: 3 Type: Steel Weakness: Fire Resistance: Grass -30 Pokemon Power: Tacks: Whenever your opponent retreat his or her active Pokemon, that Pokemon takes 10 damage. This Power stops working when Forrestress is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. [S2] High Speed Spin (30) If your opponent has any benched Pokemon, he or she chooses one and switches it with the Active Pokemon. (Do damage before switching the Pokemon.)
Whoa again! While the attack is great, and perfectly compliments everything, the Pokemon Power sticks out in my mind. Get two or three of these on your bench and put someone else out in the Active slot to do some damage, and you have quite the handy player here. With this guy, your opponent is forced to focus on more than one Pokemon.
Xatu Stage 1 -- Natu 70 HP Retreat: 1 Type: Psychic Weakness: Psychic Resistance: Fighting -30 Pokemon Power: Energy Cycle: This Pokemon Power may only be used if the opponent has any benched Pokemon. Once per turn, before you attack, you may take an energy card attached to the Opponent's Active Pokemon and attach it to any of the Opponent's Benched Pokemon. You may not use this Power if this Pokemon is Asleep, Confused, or Paralyzed. [PP1] Psychic (50)
All I can say, is good by Sneasel. What is so lovely about this Pokemon is his ability to move energy cards from the Active Pokemon to another one. Which means, I can take a Dark Energy card attached to my opponent's Sneasel and move it right over to a Pokemon who isn't a Dark type. This way, that Pokemon will take 10 damage every turn.
Those three Pokemon will be some of the most seen with the introduction of Discovery. There are more (I'll probably do a follow up post on them!) but for now I think I should focus on what will happen to the Archetypes we know.
As I mentioned above, we will see some new archetypes.
Speedrill As mentioned above, this deck will be revived with Neo Beedrill. We'll see this deck make a huge surge into the environment and be a serious contender.
Tacks The Tacks decks will be a rage too. Dealing 30 damage to a Pokemon whenever they retreat is so tempting I can hardly think about it. With Gust of Wind, we can expect to see this deck doing some serious work on opponents.
Classic Haymaker The deck that has been here since square one still will be here, but hardly as effective. Instead the Insanity Haymaker has taken its place.
Insanity Haymaker Insanity is low Pokemon (8-12 at the most), low energy (12-14) and tons of Trainers (32-40). This will be a contender still. Nothing is really added to it, but nothing is really taken away.
Turbo Wiggly Wiggly has been going through its own depression since Sprout Tower and Sneasel have hit the playing field, however, its still a contender. Once again, not much is taken away from it, however, not much is added to it. Still a contender, but Sneasel still takes it.
Occult Power This guy is always a player. I can't adaquetly tell you how it works, but check out the Deck forums and ask people their.
Murkrock While most of you call it something else, I've been aiming at the name Murkrock for awhile. Murkrock is a combo of the words Murkrow and Lock. For those of you who don't know how the deck works, you set up a Dark Vileplume so the opponent can't play any trainers. However, right before playing Vileplume, you will Gust out one of their Pokemon, hopefully, Cleffa or a Psychic Pokemon doing less than 30 damage, and use Mean Look to keep that Pokemon locked in. All the while, Murkrow is sitting there doing damage to the rest of your opponents bench. This archetype works nicely now and will continue to be a top player. I can see people trying to mix in Xatu so this deck will work even MORE effectively, however, it may be hard to do.
Outage The self-named deck works off of Xatu and BBPs. Most decks play Cleffa. With Xatu, you just load up your opponent's Cleffa and he can't do anything. Just beat down the rest of the time.
AeroLock The deck that never was will now be. AeroLock never worked because the core reason it didn't stop opponent's from getting their Pokemon out. However, it can work now. With a Trainer card named Evolution Egg (Flip a coin. If heads, search for a card that evolves from Mysterious and put it into play as if it were a Basic Pokemon), we can see first turn Aerodactyl now. With as many decks as use evolutions, Aerodactyl becomes quite popular. Spice in an Erika's Dratini and some BBPs and you're good to go.
Rain Dance Some say its not dead, but I do. =/
Cold Cold is just a Sneasel deck. Still a very powerful deck... very powerful. Nothing much else you can say about it.
I'll be back with my
thoughts on the Tournament Expansion and Neo3... see you
soon!

After a crueling bat... err... interview with Dark Master Trainer Mike, I dug up all the info I could on the Pokemon "Tournament Set."
Well.... looks like we
WILL get SOME vending cards, however which ONES is anyone's
guess. The boosters will be 15 instead of 11, but i can
almost assure you that there's AT LEAST one energy in
there... Possibly two like with Base Set. Hmmm... and
there's still no mention of Trainers.... |

& Digimon in Printed Harmony?
So then... what's the
Destiny of the other Binder cards? Hmmm... well, Pichu is
already confirmed as a League Promo (in all it's reverse
holo glory) and i'm going to go out on a limb and say that
Charizard won't be included in anything. Why? Well... if you
recall, WotC pulled the plug on PR and stamped cards... the
reasoning.. they wanted to make UNIQUE Promos from now on.
Seeing as how the Charizard is the same as from the Base
Set, i'm guessing they won't re-print it. To 15 and up Pokemon Trading Card Game fans, Hmmmm... that sounds pretty good for 15+, don't you think? Guess only time will tell for sure tho... |
