Then get all the information you need about obtaining your own right here. ...make SURE to send in a self addressed stamped envelope, or you'll be left in the cold, and you better hurry, because all requests MUST be postmarked by THURSDAY. • oh, and as long as you're sending in for the promo, take a look at the newly opened zeo store and see if there's anything there you'd like to pick up. no hurry for this one, but remember that the dogtags are only available until february 28th. hey! bonus midday update! what do you think....we've got some info on pokemon advance! sketchy now, and no screenshots, but, a fall release is confirmed in japan, and it looks like you will now need another 100 empty slots in your pokedex, cause the number of available pokemon is going to jump to 350. we've seen six new ones so far, hopefully more will be forthcoming. also it looks like we have a title for the fifth movie, it appears to be something along the lines of 'protection god of the city of water'. movie image...ash back at it i do have a bit more roughly translated material to sort through, and some pictures to do with the movie, and i'll try and get those ready as soon as i can. thank you magmar2000, for passing on the info to me! well! i'm stepping in as the emergency update...errr....yes. um. so, let's find you something....hm....how about....a new primordis card? you like that? ok! let's have that then.....you'll note that we've decided to switch the set over to universal blanks, we'll go back and change the other ones later on. so, without more ado, take a look at.... seramph! new coloring technique, i've used photoshop to do backgrouds before but with the exception of es porygon, i've never done a pokemon all in photoshop. anyways, he still needs a nice html page to match the other guys, but at least he's posted. anyways, he looks sort of neat. moving on! well, we've got a teeny bit more 2002 movie info for you. for everyone who hasn't seen them yet, here are the 2 new pokemon, joined by a third....awww....baby wobbuffet!     Rateiasu and Rateiosu, the "Eternal" Pokemon...Rateiosu is larger and blue, and capable of destruction. Rateiasu is smaller, red and innocent, and must remain at Rateiosu's side at all times. (remember info is sketchy at best...so i'm not asserting we're gonna be 100% accurate at this stage :))     Rateiosu is 2 meters long and weighs 60 kg Rateiasu is 1.4 meters and weighs 40 kg. Soonano weighs 14 kg and is 0.6 meters long.   water city, where the eternal pokemon appear.... megs helped me out but providing text for some mewtwo in action screenshots from super smash brothers melee. if you play the game a lot, you probably know it all, but if you don't, it will no doubt be very interesting! mewtwo in action tonight is definitely one of those nights that people came through for me...we have yet another analyst, by gloom, featuring electrode! like the primordis, it's not linked perfectly but we'll make do with what we can, right?   electrode! sorry...i'm not that witty tonight

The first card is Tentacruel, featuring art by Eric Dennis with attacks by Ant3k... I'll poke you good! The 2nd is a trainer with art by 'the Ale Cat', witht he card setup by Espeon, it evens off the playing feild during battle... Co-existance...

quite a big update today.... so big i archived the rest of january.... ok, so archiving has nothing to do with the size of this update, but its archived none the less! anyway, pure is sidelined with a really bad cold, so she'll be resting up the next few days, while i scrounge the info i can. before she left to get rest tho, she mailed out the next wave of promo cards, about another 60. make sure to send in yours soon, because the deadline is WEDNESDAY. • pssst....hey, did you want an Electric Soldier Porygon promo that was handed out at the sts? Then get all the information you need about obtaining your own right here. ...make SURE to send in a self addressed stamped envelope, or you'll be left in the cold, and you better hurry, because you only have until the end of the month! • oh, and as long as you're sending in for the promo, take a look at the newly opened zeo store and see if there's anything there you'd like to pick up. no hurry for this one, but remember that the dogtags are only available until february 28th. lets see here... first off our masterful marril has given us something that's EXTREMELY handy file when making cards. simply put, its a collection of 251 sugimori pictures perfectly sized for evolution rings, or perhaps as background characters in other cards. as usual, they come in three formats, (psd, gif, jpg) but this time, they are zipped since there is two files. the evolution solution! .psd .jpg .gif hmmm.... lets see here... while we're finishing up the new layout of the atelier and analyst, both sections are still hard at work. the atelier has a handful of new decks that have been reviewed over the past few days pretty much wrapping up all current decks... however hold off for a day or so while we finish off the atelier workings before sending in new decks. a deck for all occassions and our new standard analyst (standard as in the format... NOT the usual... or something) is back with another FAIRLY good review of that young little lass... um... lass. [gloom] what do you mean FAIRLY good?! [ech] you asked for it... all those things you did in yesterday's update... [gloom] ... [ech] hah... i win. [gloom] i hope people realize that i'm not really saying these things... it's really you typing it and pretending it's me. [ech] ... [gloom] hah! I win! [gloom] ... don't you have an update to finish? its cards like this that make standard BROKEN Along with a spiffy new setup for the mainpage, Project Z.E.O. is back with 2 brand new cards tonight! First off we have Quilava, featuring artwork by one RockyR, along with attacks by Eric's Mewtwo. quill is mightier than the sword Second we have a trainer card from Kyattsuai, with the art by Ripmaster Dan. Bruce Lee would be so proud! (sniff) you FOOL to challenge ME! MWAHAHA! lets see here... finally pure was able to get and scann us some images from corocoro and thanks to the help of mars, i was able to TRANSLATE some of the pages. [mars slinks away and tries to hide his kanji 4 dummies book] [DISCLAIMER] these 'translations' are NOT by any means 100% correct. they are best work from what we have, and by no means should be taken as 100% accurate. first off we have a couple of images describing the new critters and their possible roll... GBA ADVANCE!? No Pokemon until now!?   and for our final image of the day... something for you to think about until we get more information. now the image in the magazine was a tad boring with just them sitting on the page with tons of incomprehensive text surrounding. Carl's Jr./Hardee's Timing: Feb. 20 &endash; April 2 Nintendo is teaming with Carl's Jr. and Hardee's for a six-week long Pokémon Kid's Meal program featuring plastic Pokémon Cup Toppers with Pikachu, Mewtwo, Totodile and Charizard distributed in all Kid's Meals. well... it seems like only yesterday iwas here in this spot celebrating pure's birthday, but here we are again. its been a really exciting year and we have really gone through a lot. i know its not much, but i want to thank pure for being my best friend and never giving up on me, even when i had. she's a great person, and today would be a great time to email her or post on the forums and thank her for everything she does. happy birthday pure. the past year has had many ups and downs, but i hope the next one has many more ups and far less downs. :D happy birthday pure! hmmm... now on with our regularly scheduled update... guess we should post up the daily reminders, huh... or else you won't be reminded about them daily. ;) • Pssst....hey, did you want an Electric Soldier Porygon promo that we handed out at the sts? [everyone starts wandering off] o_o' wait wait! i have info for you! don't leave me yet!!!! well the wotc chat had some interesting results last night. ...no, i'm not talking about the lengthy discussion about my hair... i'm talking about the NEW RULING that they made last night: (i went and bolded or highlighted a few key points...) First, we wanted to tell you about the format of the upcoming 2002 Pokemon Challenge Series. It will be the Modified format as you now know it. This means you will be able to use cards from Team Rocket through any sets currently released. It is too early to rotate out any of the earlier sets (it hasn't even been 2 years since Rocket came out). Modified will change after the 2002 Pokemon Challenge series though, so look for that later this year However, there are many opportunities coming up for you to explore this format. The Pokemon Challenge series will be starting in March of this year. The Neo 4 Destiny set will be out and legal by this time. There are many cards in that set that will fit into and may change the current Pokemon tournament environment. Also, any other sets released during the Challenge series will be legal the day they hit the street. Keep an eye out for new sets that will give you even more choices to play in the Challenge Series. There is also a new Pokemon rule change that will even FURTHER give the current environment some diversity. In working on keeping the Pokemon rules as close as possible to the Japanese rules of the game, there is a new term that will be introduced in a later set this year. This is "Special Conditions". Asleep, Confusion, Paralysis, POISON, and later on Burned are all defined as Special Conditions. All of these effects are removed from Active Pokemon if they Evolve, Devolve, Leave Play, or are Benched. They ALSO shut of ALL Pokemon Powers on the Pokemon effected by a Special Condition. This means that Poison (and later on Burned) shut off Pokemon Powers on the Pokemon affected by them. This is a clarification of the rules for Pokemon and WILL take place in all of the upcoming Challenge series events and tournaments. This means that if you Poison a Feraligatr, it's Downpour Pokemon Power is shut off! Think of what that can mean in the current environment. Lastly I would like to talk about the concern that many people have expressed about the "apparent" dominance of the Feraligatr deck in the current Modified environment. With the inclusion of Neo Revelation and soon inclusion of Neo 4 Destiny as well as upcoming sets, you should spend a little time playing with this format. There is a lot more opportunity for exploration and game strategy than is currently being encompassed. The dreaded Feraligatr was included in less than 25% of the decks played at the WSTS (down from 50%) at the ESTS. With the new card sets and the new Poison rule, I highly recommend you start thinking outside of the box, or you will find yourself falling behind the curve. As far as the Challenge Series and the Professor Program and events, details will be posted on our web site on Monday 1/21/02. Check them out then! -Master Trainer Mike Gills o_O' ....poison now shuts off pokemon powers?! woah... now THAT is something to think about. there are a lot of pokemon that can automatically poison for one energy, and that might be a really good late game strategy. plunk down and oddish say and poison the gatr... retreat and leave it powerless or let it stay poisoned and unable to downpour.... i really think that this could change a lot in the game. also from looking at this, we can see the emergence of new decks. i think that dark crobat will make a strong showing, as will fire once again... fighting and electric is still rather unscathed by all of this, but psychic will also get a boost as rocket and neo4 play very nicely together for psychic pokes. why not visit the forums and discuss what you think about the new rulings. ...and just a quick note for all you harry potter fans out there (in case you didn't know, i'm HOOKED.... need...more...fluffys....) the next harry potter expansion is due out in MARCH! wooooo!!! destiny boosters to buy in february and harry potter in march! :D its up to you... new... york.... NEW..... YORK!!!! today marks the first of two 'new york' themed analysts as we take a look at the two new york pokemon center promos released late last year. today we have the reprinted pokemon center, and next time we have the ever fun lucky stadium. center of attention now don't worry if you can't get these cards to play with. wizards has overturnned the rule tht allows you to use older cards in place of a reprinted one... (so you can use fossil psyduck and base/base2 pokemon center instead of the promos...) and lucky stadium will be found in neo: destiny due out next month. Hey, it's like Jigglypuff, except with dreadlocks and an egg stuck in its bellybutton! And a hat... I forgot about the hat...   take no chanses mon   REMINDER: Project Z.E.O. still needs your art and attacks! [pushes a button and the interactive fun dome falls into the fire] o_o' um.... okaaaay... moving on.... i'd really like to thank pure for taking care of things while i was absent. she certainly can make up much more exciting updates than i.... even when i do cause unreversable damage to various forums. ;) i think we should all give pure a big round of applause and thanks for all the work she puts into the site. for the past week she's been the only one to run the site and the forums... as well as lead her real life... thats quite a daunting task. thanks pure for all you've done. :D speaking of sidebars... you DID say the word 'sidebar' didn't you? no? well too bad, we're going to talk about it anyway. :P just a minor little tweak to the sidebar, if you haven't noticed, take a quick look. we've dove into the realms of cascading style sheets... (be very very quiet...i'm hunting content...) anyways, i found some that most of you probably know already, but for the five or six other people like me who haven't gotten a gamecube or super smash brothers melee, here's the start of a little pokemon related section about it. (hey, besides pokemon, they're giving away COMPUTERS over there! i'm serious! and windows xp products....i think i'd rather have the pokemon stuff.) anyways, a while back we told you that happy meals would feature pokemon toys, and plush dolls would be available for purchase when you buy food there (while all we ever get is beanie babies) but starting january 28th, you can get special packages of e-mccards, with bright happy mcdesigns on the mcwrappers. take a mclook! .....for some reason i really want a cheeseburger right now.... card e energy, my my. i wonder what that does when you scan it. also i see some counters in the blue pack, in addition to the five cards. ....for some reason, i really want some e cards right now.... uh, and what looks like a zapdos with a pokemon body in the top card, and a pikachu in the bottom. well, i haven't had much luck with the stuffed mclarvitar and mccharmander that i want so much....i guess i'll have to wait and see if i can get mcthese. just to avoid bad feeling, storm feraligatr also emailed me the pics for these today. i had them already, but thank you. project zeo! well, project zeo keeps on truckin. tonight we have everyone's favorite metal bird, skarmory!  ooh! skarmory! and the fake card fun does not stop there!! woo! jump back. we have an ORANGE ISLANDS CARD!<---- (and caps! look i do know where the shift key is after all.) come take a look at.... drake's ditto! and, last but not least, we have a bit of new action in the atelier! we have a deck fix, and it's lonely.....if you've been saving one up to send in, the time to stop waiting is here! email it in and let the deck atelier have a look!   let's take a look at that deck! well that about wraps it up. everyone, have a good saturday, enjoy league if you have it, if you don't have it, go get one started so you can get some holo energy cards, clean your room, and get out there and have some fun. we've got some behind the scenes renovations going on, with luck you'll see those next week. have fun!

This year we introduce the Pokémon Challenge Series. Read all about it! Gym Challenges There's a new game in town and it's called a Gym Challenge. Now you can compete at a mall or your local game store for an invitation to the Pokémon trading card game (TCG) World Championship! You must be 14 years old or younger to enter a Gym Challenge. Stadium Challenges Tons of Pokémon TCG action is going on outside of your hometown, and you won't want to miss any of it! Stadium Challenges allow you to meet, challenge, and even trade with other players in your region. Stadium Challenges are run by experienced tournament organizers and are open to players ages 14 and younger, with side events open to all ages. Players ages 15 and older are invited to participate in exclusive Professor events (see Online Professors Program below). You could even walk off with an invitation to the Pokémon TCG World Championship. Take your game to the next level by taking on a Stadium Challenge! Look for more information and schedules for these events on this website (wizards.com) soon!   Online Professors Program This program is brand-new for 2002. It focuses on one of our most active groups of players-Pokémon TCG experts who can become mentors to new Pokémon trainers. The Pokémon Player Rewards Program is open to players of all ages, and it's coming soon!   hmm....and how about some videogame news? ant dug up some news about the new pokemon titles from nintendo....according to his source, www.cloudchaser.com, the pokemon game for gba will be released in the united states this december. if that's the case, then the japanese release should be pretty soon. equally anticipated is a pokemon title for gamecube. rumor has it that nintendo will be revealing details of this game, still under development, at the press conference for the newest pokemon movie, on january 30th. not that far away.....let's hope the rumor is true and we get some sort of idea about what they have in store. thanks ant, for the info! project zeo! well, i understand they've been having a ball over in the project zeo workrooms [ducks an assortment of thrown vegetables] and here is the card to prove it! funky art by eric, and a ruling that's really going to pester your opponent.... pester ball! well, marril's still been busy.... he's updated the episode list with five new japanese titles, and redone just about everything in the accessories department. if you've had trouble downloading psd files here in the past, marril may have solved your problem. thanks marril! and thank you to 8ball, tkpatamon, and elroy, who helped marril find all the files he needed for the accessories update. episode list accessory depot are you up to it? well, last night miles prower claimed he could make a fake card in five minutes. we put him to the test, and well....six or so minutes later he presented us with this masterpiece of a zubat.... miles' zubat so i thought...hmmm.....what if i went into 24/7 and asked people to make five minute fakes? hmm......they're always complaining they're bored in there.....and miles' five minute fake card challenge was born. we had five or so people competing, only three of which submitted their cards. want to take a look at what some people can do in five minutes? :) ant's entry marril's entry vegeta 15's entry for the most part it seemed enjoyable, so i think i might spring this on you all from time to time when you're doing too much complaining about boredom. and that, i think, is all i have for you tonight...i have a nagging suspicion i've forgotten something, but that could just be the laundr---ohhh, dear... got to run!

[looks around for something to update with] if i repeat something ech's already updated with, forgive me...i've missed the last week and a half of updates, i think i remember what all i read but im not positive, so bear with me. so, let's see what i can come up with for you! league notes..... league started last week, and i've heard great reports from people about the new setup. i still have to go out and find one....anyways, if you are looking for league, don't look in all the wrong places....call the league locator at wotc customer service....1-800-324-64969, 9-7 PST M-F. they can help you find a location near you. while it's true that some locations won't be reactivating their league, with some perserverance you should hopefully be able to find one. if there are no active leagues near you, take a couple of friends and approach your local comic, card or hobby store. let them know that you're interested and have them contact wotc's merchant relations department, at 1-800-821-8028. they are open 9-5 PST M-F. they can help get them set up. and if they do set up a league, then for goodness sakes', go! that will most likely determine if the league continues or not. wotc customer service is there to help answer other questions you might have, drop them an email at custserv@wizards.com and see if they can help you out. project zeo! tonight we have a fighting type for you....nice pic, funky attack...it's hitmonchan! new badge sheets!! well! look what poinko has for you now. he's made a vs style badge sheet of a bunch of pokemon's 'forgotten' characters. in .gif, .jpg, and .psd, let's see what you can make of these! come on now, i want to see these over in the fake card showcase! the forgotten badges, .gif the forgotten badges, .jpg the forgotten badges, .psd under works! well, i've finally gotten decembers coro coro, and i scanned it and i hope to have that section done very soon. there's really nothing new in it, altho i understand the next issue (i think) should have a bit more pokemon news in it. i've also got some new clip backs, and a new type of blank that's being worked on. our atelier staff should be back from a well-earned respite soon, and resuming their hard work with the deck fixes and articles. and now that i have this gorgeous new intuos2, i should really start back up with the primordis sent, now, shouldn't i?

(yes yes i know i said it would be done today... i'm sorry... things are just too much.) anyway, i managed to update the anime section a couple days ago... and today we have the desktops section all brought up to speed.... hopefully tomorrow at some point we'll also have the tcg page, the video games page (THAT i dread...) as well as the new featured articles page. ...hmmm i guess we have to figure out something to do about the now dated sts section too, huh? a dozen or so desktops at your disposal! ooooh... we also have a trio of new japanese promo cards to show off. if you remember last week we mentioned something about the pokemon center promo in japan. well as it turns out, it is a new japanese promo depicting pictures from the osaka and tokyo pokemon centers... now here's the real interesting part... they are actually two different cards called pokemon center osaka and pokemon center tokyo. and not only that, but they aren't just standard pokemon center text either. they both do different things by the looks of it. finally these two cards are a new type of trainer called 'support' cards (as denoted by the silver bar on the bottom of the pic). what these do is only allow you to play ONE support card per turn, adding a new limit to what you can and can't do each turn. so you had better think hard before playing that bill, because afterwards you can't play any more support cards that turn... secondly we also haev a new fun club promo! (we STILL want to see the porygon in english tho... best porygon ever!) this time its another shining pokemon.... er... trainer.... er... guy in a mouse costume. O_o shining imakuni? is being given out to fun club members, and judging from previous fun club promos, this one too will be highly sought after. ...and in case you didn't notice, imakuni? is a support card too ;)

All you have to do is check out the guidelines and send in your art and attacks! well, as promised on new year's day, i've been spending a lot of time over in the anime section... trying to get it up to par with the rest of the site. now while its not totally done yet, its a start, and it has links to some anime spoilers as well as the previews for the raikou episode and the new pokemon 2002 movie. beam me up ....athletes get endorcemnt. actors get endorcement.... why not pokemon trainers? i guess once a trainer becomes a master THATS when you have nike and adidas knocking at your door. when trainers go pro just a little reminder too... today there is a special guest at the wotc chat who will be talking about the FUTURE OF THE GAME.... [dumps out hos inbox of all the pokemon body related emails] um... yeah. anyway, here is the new definitions. a pokemon power is a once per turn power. along the lines of feraligator's downpour or its a power that can only be used when you play the card... such as entei's howl power. pokemon body on the other hand, is a power that is always on (except for status effects...) such as jungle mr. mime's invisible wall, or suicunes (very controversial) crystal body. ...hopefully that clears up a bit and you can all get on with making great new style promos. Project ZEO is back with a new card, this time around it's everyones favorite headache inducing quack Psyduck, with some nice art from mister RockyR along with some good attacks provided by Sugar Ray Quackers and Milk...

• pssst.... did you want an Electric Soldier Porygon promo that we handed out at the sts... get all the information you need about obtaining your own right here. ...its only been less than a week and already we have recived a great number of orders so if you haven't sent in a request yet, you might consider doing it NOW.... :D • and as long as you're sending in for a promo, take a look at the newly opened zeo store and see if there's anything there you'd like to pick up. well.... its a new year and to celebrate we have a rather cool update for you today starting with the new anime section of the site. up until now we've mainly focused on cards, but hopefully in the near future we are going to start having more on the anime as well. you have seen the little bits and peices that we have scattered in the updates, but now we're going to try and focus on a regular feature type article as well. sharkdog has been a staff member from the start, but somehow always seemed to slip by us when it came to work... (must be that whole 6 hour time difference thing...) but not anymore! today shark has a report on the current state of the anime in japan, and each week he will be writing us a short article about the current episode in japan. [shark mutters something while putting on his formal zeo work-wear] the [anime] invasion begins... ...and this is just the begining of the anime invasion on zeo. in the next couple days we will have the anime index page revamped and everything working.... you have been warned... :D its been quite a while since we've expanded the blanks section on zeo... especially since there is now a whole new type of blanks. today we have a bunch of universal style blanks for you to use for your faking pleasure. coming up in the near future will also be webstyle and custom ones in these styles as well. nifty, huh? universal soldier
