well! if you've been a tad disappointed in the updates lately, now you'll see what we've been working on.....

finding the pic of the dark/light cards for neo4 was really exciting....especially seeing how many other sites are now showing an interest in them. it was cool to be able to spread it around, and even cooler to realize people are keeping up with what we do here on the site. anyways.....

i wasn't feeling great this weekend so we fell a little bit behind, but now look what we have for you.....all you need to make your very own dark/light set of fakes--

we have baby through stage 2, dark and light, for all types of cards. now, we worked hard on these and we want to see what you can make with them! make a couple and bring them over to our forum and show us what you can do.

and you thought we were insane for doing all 26 unowns....would you beleive we produced 72 backs?! not bad for a day's work....:D

now, before you start sending me emails pointing out in superior tones that the japanese adjective is more closely aligned to "kind" rather than "light" i would like to point out that a) i know that and b) i saw 'em first and c) for convienence's sake i'm going to go with what wotc is most likely to call 'em. :D

i'd like to thank everyone who did participate in this...our site has more than recovered from the slump it took due to the server malfunction. thanks, all of you...we'd never have made it back without you.

Today we have one of my favorite Pokemon, and it has another attack that does more damage if you ahve evolved Pokemon on your bench...

How can i make today's update as interesting as yesterday's.... Hmmm.. Well, i missed the League because of the !@$% transit strike! Thanks alot Calgary Transit!!! Man, i gotta get my car back...

Anyway, we have a really wicked looking Skarmory here today. It uses soley Colorless Energy, but has a very big incentive to use Metal instead....

i got myself a ride over to the store to pick up my coro coro (and a bag of chocoflake, box of hello panda cookies, 2 ufo instant yakisoba and some cucumber sushi) and opened it up and started looking through it (aaaah, no promo card) when i came to a page that really got my attention....sharkdog had given me the logo for neo4 a day or so ago, and i did remember hearing that the set was supposed to have something to do with darkness and light....leading to speculation of more á-la-rocket pokemon....but what about the light? well.....zeo is here to show you.....

doesn't that look beautiful? you'll notice there is no expansion symbol...i'm not sure why that is. these may be protoypes of some sort....but wow! i took a look on the media factory site but didn't see any neo4 pics there....so, we'll just roll with what coro coro offers us for now.


an interesting but probably unrelated side note:

vash used to work with this really nice japanese girl named yuko (whom i wish he still worked with cause then she could read me this manga) (plus she was very cool and nice) and anyways, she said that the number four represented death in japan....sort of like how lots of buildings in america don't have 13th floors, they don't use the number 4 a lot (corroborated by someone on his 303 mailing list....groovebox didn't make a 404, since it would literally be the death-o-death :D) i'm not sure if its the arabic numeral 4 they mean or not....but it's sort of interesting, in a metaphysical sort of way, to have this whole light and dark thing with a (probably unintentional) death motif....one way or another, i am so looking forward to this set.


new promo deck?

tear your eyes from the neo4 and take a look down at the bottom left corner. remember those squirtle/bulbasaur promo decks? here's a chikorita/totodile one (fire gets the shaft again....but really, it would result in a weakness either way) its hard to tell in the scan, but the expansion symbols are chikoritas and totodiles, respectively. looks cool!

due to the fact we were working with a scan of a picture of a card, it isn't as crisp as our other backs. as soon as we can get our hands on an actual light card, we'll redo the backs. but we figured, why make you wait? so, here you are! go, make stuff! come back and post it at the forums when you're done! :D


we really must be nuts.....

i just realized this is the third week in a row we've put up a complete set of blanks....@_@ no wonder we're so tired. anyways, if you haven't yet, go browse through our selection. the latest sets to go up are these light ones, reverse holo neo, "3-attack backs" (like rocket's mewtwo) and the "love" backs we made for valentines day. ;) if you're new to fake making, you're bound to find something you like in our make your own section, and if you've been doing it a while, now you've got a whole new set to play with.

We have some more STS info, some new format Holosheets and of course.... Delibird!

• No entry Requirements for the STS this time around. Just show up with your deck!
• Prop15/3c is dead!!! (damn.. i liked it)
• There will most likely be a NEW Proposition... (i'm hoping for an evolution based one...)
• The Qualifiers will be played for TRIP PACKAGES! Very sweet...

Clearly the biggest peice of information to come out of the WotC Thrusday chat was the controversial desicion to not include an age 15 and over bracket at the STS...

"All qualifiers for the STS will have 2 age catagoties 14 and younger and 10 and younger. These catagories will feed the Super Trainer Showdown and trip packages will be awarded to players in those catagoies. There will, where possible be open evens that will be great for family participation. These will not feed the Super Trainer Showdown. Additionally there will be open age events at the STS that will feature prizes however there will not be championships for these events."

!!! Can anyone say, ouch? I mean it's great if you happen to be under the age of 15.. i mean there are a lot of qualifiers around north america, and you can even win trip packages... however if you're over 15 you're totally left out.

Hmmm... what to do, what to do...

This seems to be a Corporate Suit desicion as the MTs really didn't seem thrilled about it either.

So then, how can we save the 15 and over division? Well... they suggest you email Wizards and calmly state why you figure that 15+ should be reinstated for the STS.

Also take a look at the Petition on the Zeo Forums. Check back later and we'll have some form emails that you can send in if you don't know what to say.

If everyone helps out, we can get the 15+ back!

we have a list of the cities where the qualifiers will be held.....i'll post that up in a bit...but first off, they really dropped a bombshell on us this time....

there will be no championship tournament for fifteen and up at the qualifiers and east coast sts...

i can't even start to tell you how disappointed ech and i are about this. i've been looking forward to going and competing this year, and it looks like we're not going to get the chance. :(

anyways, we'll be back with an update and all the info we have on this, and some suggestions for what you can do if you'd like to protest this ruling. i know a lot of people who play who are going to be bitterly unhappy to hear this....but before you start flooding wotc with hate emails, let's get all the details.

that's all the locations we have for now...i'm not certain if there will be more added. qualifiers will give you the chance to win a trip to the sts, but there are no entry requirements this year. no badges, no nothing, just roll right on in! apparently there are some benefits to qualifiying that will be revealed next week....

i was showing my sites to someone yesterday....after i had the concept of pokemon cards (no, not like greeting cards...playing cards) explained, the question invariably arises...."so why would someone make fake pokemon cards?" i can't sell em or anything....geez, why do i do this?

i guess mainly because it's fun...it stimulates me both artistically, imaginatively and to a degree intellectually. they're small and don't take forever to finish, and i can display them and most of the time people admire them. i met a lot of great people too, through various sites and forums i've been affiliated with, and that's worth a lot to me as well.

anyways, i like it, so it pleases me to devote a chunk of my time and money to help keep this site running so we can all make fake cards, play in chatrooms and generally have a good time. so, let's get on with it!

Alright! For some reason i don't have work today! And i get paid to NOT be at work! Yaaaaay! Aren't unions sweet?

So how come lately some of our cards have seemed less than steller? Well because, not ever card can be top notch first of all, and rather than making mediocre versions of Pokemon we like, we're doing them with pokemon that no one in their right mind would like. I mean come on.... does Base Set Gastly even deserve to be in the set? ...and yet it is... ah, the mysteries of life...

Pure yet again shows off her artistic capabilites, this time in Plush form. A couple weeks ago she turned an everyday stuffed pikachu into a plush replica of our very own Cyborg Pika.

We'd like to welcome the Pokegym back to the Digital Network as they have officially announced thier partnership with WotC to bring you WizPog, Wizards Pokemon Gym. Now i know they don't need our plug, but it never hurts, right guys?

to commemerate the reformation of the Pokegym, pure whipped up a really cool Lugia card and desktop pic!

Today our major update fodder is....

Pokemon eValentines!

We have taken 18 of our favorite Pokemon and made cute little Valentines that you can either send to your friends via email or Print out and give them to your classmates!

...and this is only the start! The only reason we stopped at 18 was because that was the limitations of Bravenet... don't worry... there's more Valentines fun for you all soon!

Ash is such a moron.. I mean the freakin thing was FOLLOWING him and he's like, "oh do you want to come with us Heracross?"

Anyway, we have a Semi-useful Heracross today... just depends on your definition of Useful. :D

Where I can't get the HP font with its pricy, corporate nature making it bad to send around free... >_<

Everyone's still stuck using Century Gothic and things.

So I did this. ^-^

(using this feature on this 'myfonts' site to test fonts)

And there we have a nice, clean-cut PSD with Neo and Base HP images ready to stick on cards. Somehow I got it looking just like the real thing.

Wonderfully legal! ^-^ You'll even be able to use this to make your own brutally awesome stuff better.

Shuckle itseld is kinda useless in the game and as a card... but this one is pretty cool. It's gaurenteed to last three turns, and it has an interesting attack...

Yaaaay! Corocoro is back!

Well... for a while there it looked as tho either, A. someone stole Pure's Coro Coro, or B. The store didn't order it.

Fortunatly it was neither, and Pure got her Coro Coro today! Yaaaaay! She was telling me about all this cool stuff it's got in it, and i personally can't wait!

So then... for the next couple days Purity is going to be madly scanning and getting the new Coro Coro section in order, so check back soon!

ok...we've already got a lot of interest in the new promo giveaway. a bunch of you have made flyers, and other people are doing other things. it's exciting to see what you're all coming up with! do bear in mind tho, if what you're planning to do involves distributing flyers or posting ads in forums, make sure that its ok to do so before you start doing it. some forums don't want things like that posted, and some stores and so forth have anti-solicitation policies to keep people from handing things out. ask someone in charge before you embark on your zeo publicity campaign.

for those of you without leagues or printers, there are lots of things to do other than distribute flyers. and to really make this promotion exciting, i'm upping the stakes.....we're gonna pick the most creative, most appealing or successful promotion idea, and that person is going to get a special prize....

they're going to get a signed print of the full sized artwork for the card. if you like my illustration style, then this might be something you'll want to try for.

you can email or snail-mail us your entries....if its a physical thing like a flyer or a button or sticker, send us one so we can see! if you something like put zeo on public computers, or do some sort of weird stunt, then take a picture of what you did, and tell us about it! we'd like to use some of the stuff people did on a page on our site later on, so in addition to a really cool promo and chance at some art, we're offering you a shot at your 15 minutes of demi-fame. we've seen some really cool things so far, so keep them coming....

Wow! the STS announcement sure was a shocker, huh?

Anyway the next STS WILL be in New Jersey at the Medowlands in June! Not only that, but it's TWO DAYS!

The Mall tours will resume prior to the STS, on April 7th, and more details about those, the STS Format and requirements ("MTM: If any"), as well as information on the SouthWest STS at the end of the year!

Booyeah!

...oh, and you can bet Team Hoax will be there... i mean it wouldn't be the same without us, right?

So what are we getting at here?

..well.. as i'm sure many of you have noticed, Zeo was down for a week, and we really go hit hard in the ratings... what to do... what to do...

How about this? We want all you guys to do what Mech and CSL2 have done and go out and promote Zeo. Make Flyers to hand out at your league. Make a patch for apprentice... do whatever you think is fitting to promote Zeo.

So then... here's the cool part...

So how does this all fit together?!

Simple!

Just make up some flyers or something promoting Zeo and Hand them out. Then Drop one in an envolope, along with a letter explaining what you did and how it worked. Send us whatever you can... Flyers, Pictures, Letters... we love to get it...

And in return... you get the Mysterious card seen above! How's that for cool?! Anyway, all letters MUST be postmarked by Feb. 28th 2001 in order to receive the promo... And to avoid confusion like last time, ***No Promos will be mailed out until the first week of march, after all requests are in***

Guess you need a mailing address, right? Send all your masterpeices too....

well... some things have changed, but for the most part.... ZEO IS BACK! WOOO HOOO!

Thanks to Pure and Vash who did all the talking to CWI... all i did was change every single link on the site to reflect our new URL...

Well...

We still really have no idea what happened, but the aftermath doesn't look too promising.

First off, it looks like for the time being (possibly perminantly) our url is http://www.sugarshock.net/zeo/ through everything we managed to lose our Zeo subdomain, and are still looking at how to get it back. Along with that however, went mine, pure's, hack's, dug's, dui's, shark's and the coro coro folders too... Thrilling. :/

Fortunatly I was able to move most of the stuff from mine and pure's folders over, as well as gave Hackman's Analyst a new home in the main site.

Unfortunatly tho, Dui, Dug, Shark and Coro Coro are still Awol. <sigh>

Anyway, pure and i would really like to thank everyone for sticking by us through these server problems, and as we continue to re-establish the site. Right now i'm pretty sure that all the blanks work, as well as all but 5 or 6 zeo edition cards. Unfortunatly the Clipbacks, Desktop Pics, and Fan Fakes won't really be fixed until Monday when i can get to work and fix them. If everything goes according to plan, Zeo should be up and Fully functional by Monday.

<sigh>

And to top it off, we were at 102 in the top sites when this happened... now we're over 150 again. :/

Thanks guys... you've really made Zeo what it is. And even through all these problems, we never once for a second thought of abandoning it because of the fans.

• Zapdos, Moltres, Spinarak, and Heracross, will join Charizard, Venusaur, Blastoise, Pikachu, Graveller, Nidorino, and Articuno in the Power Figures series.

• While there's no plans for Butch and Cassidy action figures, we can see Professor Oak, Tracey, Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny in the near future.

• Next in the beenie pokes are Chikorita, Bayleef, Quilava, Typhlosion, Croconaw, Feraligatr, Blissey, Cleffa and Sunflora followed by Meganium, Igglybuff, Spinarak, Scizor, Stantler, and Ho-oh.
