august 31st already?! where did the time go? O_o seems like just yesterday summer was starting.... ah well!

today also celebrates the birthday of our favorite analyst... Hackman! Why not go wish him a happy birthday on the forums

well.... pure and i completed the zeo edition... 251 pokemon, 26 unowns, 1 computer glitch, as well as some fun cards and promos as well... over 300 cards to be exact. for those of you that haven't gotten to see the entire zeo edition, we now have it back online thanks to vash who is letting us use some of his webspace to hold it! thanks vash! anyway, the zeo edition link on the sidebar works again, or you can just click here instead...

so then.... now that the zeo edition is done.... whats next? well... let me tell you.... (grabs his fishbowl and towel... but then remembers his promise from before) um... lets just show you shall we. ^_^

in the coming weeks at zeo you will see not one... not two... but THREE brand new sets, all from different people, all featuring different styles, themes, and people.... even you!

Set I: Orange Islands Theme
Authors: Zeo Staff

Pure and i shouldn't get all the fake card making fun... especially where there are so many other talented staff members at zeo... thats why we are making an orange islands themed deck. Here we will see hackman, mechachu, anguris, dune, ryle, mars, dug, and shark all working in collaberation to bring a set of the oft neglected orange islands trainers

Set II: 'Vending' Style Set
Authors: EVERYBODY!

this set is perhaps most interest to the most people as if gives everyone the chance to work on it! headed up by kyatt, poinko, espeonx, and mt, this set will have attacks taken from forum members, as well as art that can be submitted by anyone and they will be brought together to make a set based on that. Currently the theme is 1 of each pokemon, and we don't know yet how many total pokemon it will be... but feel free to send in as much artwork as you like... it might not all get picked, but you never know!

Set III: 'Zeo Edition 2'
Authors: pure and ech

well.... we just couldn't stop at one set, and as we speak pure and i are discussing the final detail of the set. it WILL have a definate theme to it, and those who have been following the forum topics might be surprised to see that while we are doing both a vending and orange islands theme... it's not THE zeo edition 2...

so then... what CAN we tell you about the zeo edition 2? hmmm... at this point, not to much... we don't want to let it out before we've started making it, now do we? it will be significantly smaller than the zeo edition tho (don't want to be tied up for another year) it will have a definate rarity scheme this time, (unlike the zeo edition where we didn't know the final rarity of a card until we made it :D ) and it will have a wide array of art styles, from both purity and myself.

so then..... there's the fake card outline for the next little while... hopefully it has something to please everyone. there will always be different styles and themes of cards to look at, which is a big change from the zeo edition where we kept it uniform.

anyway, hackman has returned to the analysis booth, and is looking at a Riptide Enviroment.... which kinda seems to have dominated the ECSTS and will likely dominate Modified (read: QT Tour) as well....

hmmm... well, we've almost completed the zeo edition with all the pokemon... NOW we can have some fun... now only with art styles.... but with cards too.... >:D ...er... once we finish mewtwo that is... :D

how dare they show new pokemon episodes without telling me..

apparently we have two new pokemon episodes today, and they are the first two of the Johto League Champions Series.... which means a new theme song too? hopefully... i mean the themes are progressivly getting better... so i can only hope that jlc is the same! ...and if it has a tyranitar... (which i bet it does because i've seen the japanese one...) :D

sadly, i have to be up in (looks at the clock) 3 hours in order to see it... :/ the only station that carries it is out of new york.... ah well... i'll watch it, go to bed, get up in two hours and watch the second one. :D

sure beats being thrown to the wolves....

ah yes.... another obscewr refernced attacks for the giant dragon pokemon. a few of you may get it... the rest will just think that i've lost it and need more sleep.. :D

the power and attack work nicely together, almost like murkrow but non broken... and not evil either.

first off we have some really cool new blanks for you. pure made these from scratch, and we did them as VS style first! Today we have Bug, Dragon, Ice, Gothic, and Poison blanks for you to use.... and coming soon will be Neo and Genesis Styles as well as eCard!

now originally i had thought up a very confusing attack for this... but then i started wording it... and it was late... and it didn't make sense... and then i realized the attack sucked... :D

so instead we have Crystal Aurora... which more than makes up for it. It can be both a highly offensive or defensive move.... which seems to suit dragonair very nicely....

once again we have some really cool stuff for you all... two cards and two new desktops!

the first desktop comes from a contest that pure entered about a month ago. Eric's Mewtwo from the Zeo Forums had a contest to recreate one of his pokemon.... a few of you might remember Pure's Entry Nightshade's Lavalord...(which i can't seem to FIND right now... -_-) well... now we have the full sized art for you to use as a background picture too!

if you haven't seen some of eric's creations, you should go and take a look. he has really interesting pokemon lurking at his site....

secondly for all you aerodactyl fans out there... we have the primative pterror in desktop form for all of you too....

and finally.... dratini!

one of the cutest pokemon finally makes it's zeo edtion debut... and it certainly is cute... in fact it's gentle gaze can really disrupt an opponent, or help you... and then it's mini dragon rage may look cute, but it can also be first turn deadly....

much like we did with the dogs/cats/whatchmacallits, we have a southern islands (japanese si that is) promo set with the three loveable birds of destruction.

of COURSE we did actual cards..... not just the binder to make it LOOK like cards.... :D

...and finally we have a new desktop picture for you all to use featuring a high resolution reproduction of those three birds... now that's some wicked winged wanderers....

well... it was fun while it lasted, but pure went home yesterday... just gets harder and harder to say goodbye after each visit... guess i'll have to figure out how to move to ny... look out big apple... ech is taking revenge... anyway, we didn't do much work on the computer, but one big thing we did was make some definative planning for the next set after the zeo edition. sure, we had ideas, but now we actually have concrete plans... anyway it will be an interesting set to say the least... :D

anyway, while pure is working on stuff back in utah (yeah... she's back there for another week and a half) i'm taking some tutorials and honing up my photoshop and go live skills...

pure and i are taking the weekend off from the vigors of updating zeo... but don't worry, we've found a suitable replacement for the couple days we're off.

starting Friday and continuing though till Monday, zeo will be updated by none other than everyone's favorite cybernetic pika.... mechachu! since he's always pushing that we take time off, we found it only fitting that we leave him in charge... yeah... we know... poor mech... as usual we have 'rewarded' a job well done by giving him additional work... don't worry tho, we still love him.

• well... pure managed to get to utah... however she was delayed overnight in houston... -_- talk about a long flight... nearly 24 hours of airport fun! fortunatly they managed to get her a hotel room... so it wasn't all that bad. anyway, she's resting up for a couple days then she gets to take ANOTHER trek, this time to canada... she's done a writeup about her trip thus far, and once she can UL it, it'll be available for all to enjoy. :)

• well.... pure is off. starting today she is taking some time off to visit her family in utah, as well as myself, and mt up here in calgary! :D damn i need to clean... while away, pure will be working on a couple projects including some sugarshock stuff and she's also going to work on the new zeo site design set to debut later this year. anyway, so i'm running the show pretty much solo for the next three weeks, but i know that the staff will be there to help me. [turns around and sees the site on fire and swarms of zeophytes in mass panic] ..its going to be a long three weeks...

• ooooh... new promo.... when you go to the SpaceWorld in Japan, you get a chance to try out nintendo's new eCard reader... and to boot, they give you a cool card to try it out on! it's everyone's favorite little green gnome, pha... i mean celebi!

• the masters at wotc have been working hard, and they have two new things coming out of their seattle offices... first off was an announcement about the new pokemon format.... Modified! this format will change as the game changes, but right now is set to include Rocket - Discovery, SI and Promos, with ancient mew, ____'s pikachu, and sneasel being banned....

the second bit is the new massive rule document they have finished up. thanks to help from team compendium, wotc has released an official (144 page long...) collaberation of ruling questions. @_@ get it here

• bah.... this code red thing is starting to irritate me... and i'm sure you as well. even tho our server was not infected by code red, we were still caught up in the backlash of it... go figure... anyway, we hope that everything is back to normal, but i guess only time will tell... if you didn't get a chance to, read the last few days updates... good stuffs in there. sorry about all the inconvienience and thanks for sticking with us. :D

• pure is working on finishing up the sts packages.. she is just awaiting more zeo buttons and hopefully they will go out before she leaves on vacation later this week. if the buttons DON'T arrive before she leaves, she's made plans to ship them out to utah so that she can still process the orders asap. she'll check the po box one last time before she leaves on friday so that hopefully all of the orders can be processed asap. we will keep you updated on the progres, so keep an eye out.

yoshi1001 from the Wizpog Forums not only had the opportunity to go to GenCon this weekend in Wisconsin... but he also was able to interview MasterTrainerMike. :D ...not only that but he was cool enough to post it on his internet radio station for everyone to listen to.

not to give the whole thing away, but lots of interesting information was given in the 10 minute interview...

• Neo: Revelation is due out in late october, early november, Neo4 due out early 2002 and wotc is still negotiating with pokemon inc to get more control over the game as well as produce new sets
• Both the STSQT and the STS will have a different format...
• The History of the MTM's love for Weedles and the SpaceWeedle.. including the future of the first momument....
• League Season 3 will be taking a new direction, away from the badges and stickers (read: harry potter league) and more towards playing and different formats and type.
• a new format will be dci legal come september 1st... and i know a LOT of people are looking forward to a block or sorts. :D

the interview is part of a three hour play rotation, consisting of mainly pokemon music. personally i think it's worth listening to.. especially just for the ambient pokemon sounds. :D -click for full details...

well.... looks like wotc has the place picked out and they are just waiting for final confirmation before they make it public... but according to what we see, and unless things change... the WCSTS will be held at the San Diego Convention Center. :D

two new sections!

this friday we have two new sections to debut for you...

the first is just a card archive. we've done to the american promo set what we've done with Neo3, Neo4, VS, Discovery, and SI. we have a complete listing of all 38 american promo edition cards, as well as all stamped and marked cards. not only that before the end of the day we should have scans of all of them... its just a matter of finishing doing them.

included is also an accurate account of how to get the cards. :D thanks to mt, and magmar2k for their help with this.

and the other new section that we have is something we've been meaning to do for a while now. people seem to be interested in aim battles, and so we've desided that maybe we should start posting these... let us know what you think.

anyway, the first of our featured matches is purity and myself in a 'rainbow' format. sounds simple, right? all you have to do is have at least one pokemon of each nine colors in your deck... of yeah, and rainbow energy is banned. >:D whats really cool about this is take a look at the deck lists... pure and i had a lot of similar ideas... :D

• the tropical mega battle has officially been announced for later this month. the top ranked players will meet in hawaii for a chance to face off with some of japan's best. lucky mtm... getting to go to hawaii... hmm... maybe if we offer to make the 'official' tmb promo.... :D

and good old hack is taking a hack at the si set with the first of two tropical themed analysts. today we study the pokemon that hail from rainbow island
