well, pure here for today's update...there's not a great deal going on however so it's bound to be a short one. but, onwards.

if you haven't yet posted in the thanks to wotc thread in the forums, and you want to, here's the link to that.....

thanks, that was fun

moving on, ech did a bit of work on the adv card sections. the english names have been added in and they've been filled in and straightened up. take a look!

funky chicken

in other, unrelated news, the new ipod is released this week. speaking of ipods, vash got a broken one from his boss, took it apart, and managed to repair it. go vash! that is pretty impressive. and the inside of an ipod looks pretty cool.

apart from that, there's not much else to say. hopefully we'll have something a bit more exciting tomorrow. see you then!

quote of the day:

ech: to make it up to you, you can go visit the penguin warehouse
ech: sadly, it is a clever ruse...
Gloom: aww
Gloom: I'd get a penguin...
ech: that would be so cool tho
ech: having a penguin
purity: emperor penguins are tall
purity: they are four feet tall
Gloom: wow
Sharkdog: wow
Sharkdog: thats tall
Sharkdog: for a penguin
purity: yeah, for a penguin

well.... as im sure you all have heard by now, another chapter in the wizards of the coast pokemon involvement has come to an end. yesterday in another press release by chuck huebner, president and ceo of wotc we found out about the fate of lc2 and jamboree...

TO: Pokémon Community
FR: Chuck Huebner
President & Chief Executive Officer
Wizards of the Coast

RE: Future Pokémon TCG Releases by Wizards of the Coast

April 28, 2003

I hope you are all looking forward to the Pokémon -e: Skyridge set as much as we are. The Pokémon -e: Skyridge release is a special one for all of us here at Wizards of the Coast because it will be our last.

As many of you may be aware, we were planning to release two additional sets for Pokémon fans this year: Legendary Collection II and Jamboree . Unfortunately, Pokémon USA, Inc. has told us we will not be able to release either of these sets. Wizards of the Coast does not know whether Pokémon USA, Inc. is planning to release these sets themselves at a later date or if the sets are on a permanent hiatus.

We are still moving forward with plans for a Pokémon Fan appreciation tournament to take place Saturday July 26th at the GenCon Gaming Convention in Indianapolis. I’d like to also remind you that Wizards will continue to support Pokémon organized play through BattleZone, the upcoming Skyridge Super BattleZone, the Professor Championship at Origins, and the Team Multi-play Championship at GenCon. Skyridge is a great set that we know fans of Pokémon will enjoy both to collect and to play with during these exciting summer events.

Again, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the millions of players who have purchased our products and participated in the thousands of events that we have hosted such as the Super Trainer Showdowns, mall tours, Pokémon Leagues, and last year’s World Championship in Seattle. We hope you have enjoyed them as much as we have.

I hope you are all having a good spring.

Warm regards,

Chuck

all in all.... most people aren't too surprised. once nintendo announced the june release date for pokemon adv, it was questionable as to if wizards would be allowed to ship legendary collection 2 or their own set jamboree... but of course no one wanted to think the worst at the time. i personally am really disappointed that they are not being allowed to release them at this time, because of the amount of work that i know many people at wotc put into all their sets, and those two sets especially. we were lucky enough to see some of the concepts and designs for both lc2 and jamboree and it is very unfortunate that those may never see the light of day, and almost certainly not under wizard's name.

so then... next monday marks the real beginning of the end of wizard's commitment as skyridge ships out to stores. there are still many many events scheduled by wizards for both gencon, origins, and of course super battlezone is right around the corner.

i would also just like to take a moment to thank [master trainer] mike gills, [dark] mike boozer, [master trainer] pat swift, [dark master] steve warner, [no prefix needed head dci guy] keiren chase, and of course everyone else who has supported pokemon and wizards through the past five years.

the game ever would have made it this far without you all, and the level of commitment and dedication you have shown over the years is only surpassed by your love of the game, and most importantly, the fans.

thank you all.

head on over to the forums to thank wizards for their great support of the game, and for the future...

poinko has also provided us with a new equation card today. i'll give you a hint... its that little pink thing. no... not ditto. its cute. no.. not cleffa. no.... no clefairy or clefable either. ....no... its not luvdisc... or wurmple.... what?! i think wurple is cute!

of course, there are still more purple monsters in yugioh than there are pink pokemon in pokemon. i mean go ahead and count them. 90 of the monsters have purple heads...

-ech

gotta catch 'em all!

with the exception of skyridge, wizards has produced 2113
cards. ...or at least thats the number we get. how about you?
hint: base through aquapolis, and all promos

TGIK

or in layman's terms, 'thank goodness for kinkos'

ech here on a lovely sunday night in the kinko's on broadway and 7th in lovely downtown portland oregon. there is a 7-11 across the street and FREE highspeed internet (provided you have your own laptop of course) so i'll be here for the next [checks his watch] lessee... flight's at 9am... half and hour to get to the airport... for the next 7 hours... if you're in the neighborhoods, stop by!

[listens to the crickets chirp. the graveyard clerk feigns interest in his job while trying to watch ech steal internet]

ooookay... anyway, this weekend was fun. it was good to be back on the road again after the three week hiatus. i really love travelling, and its really amazing how you can miss people you work with after three weeks. the guys and girls on the ygo tour are great people, and they do a lot of hard work... its a lot harder than it sounds you know... on the road four days a week.... different city each day... but its fun, and that's what counts, right? :D

anyway, pure had a red eye flight, so she was able to stay for a couple hours after the end of the day, and we had dinner then went to the airport. she should probably be home reading this by the time i get on the plane.

i got back to the hotel and weighed the options between sleep and hiking down to the kinkos pure saw earlier... and well... guess which one won. ;)

so then, we have the weekend report with marril2k coming up after a word from our sponsors...

Hello Zeo! Marril here with another one of those user friendly updates. Well the Yu-Gi-Oh tour is back on the road again. This weekend Zeo's own Poinko, Ech, Pure and Gloom where in Portland Oregon at the Lloyd Center. If your going to be in the Fairfield California area next week, why not stop by the Westfield Shoppingtown Solano to say hello. On to the news!

Earlier this week we reported the callout for Tournament Organizers by Nintendo. Well Nintendo has updated Pokémon-TCG.com with a new article and the application (finally! We had it before they posted it ;) ). According to the article, Nintendo is looking for Tournament Organizers for an "exciting new tournament series this summer.” Sounds like this summer it wont only be crazy with Pokémon product everywhere on the market but also tournaments everywhere it sounds. Anyway, if your over 18-years-old and are interested in helping Nintendo by becoming a Tournament Organizer, check out the site at:

That crazy Dark Master Trainer Mike is back at it again! No, not with the maple bars… He as written another article up at the Wizards Pokémon site. This time he takes a look at the current modified format based upon the data collected at the last Super BattleZone run in February. Something worth checking out:

Lastly, congratulations to this weeks few who where able to correctly decode my signature: Borgman89 and Freon de Glace. Also special recognition goes out to Elric on the Zeo Forums for noticing that I spelt Rhode Island wrong in the message. If your interested in seeing your name on the Zeo Update, why not try and decode this weeks new hidden message in my forum signature. All for today gang,

-marril

last update: 1 am

hello again, this update may have to tide you over for a few days, since we are off on tour again....this weekend, we will be in portland, oregon at the
lloyd center mall. drop by and say hi if you are in the neighborhood!

seeing as it was our dear admin angirus's birthday yesterday, i've decided to hand tonight's update over to that loveable and previously unheard of ham-ham

angtaro!!
aaaaaaaw

hamha, angtaro! i'm here to ta-dah lots of hushie from the greatchu world of pokemon!

......

weeeell....that's enough from him. [angtaro: bye-q!] we have quite a bit to hold you over for the weekend, so let's get it on. first off, as always on thursdays we have the wotc chat, broken down and sorted out and easy to search through courtesy of marril.

AAAAAAAAHHH no more ditto questions!!!

and another bit of news for you from the pokemon center......the price on ruby/sapphire has dropped. ¬_¬...... now it is selling for $34.95, AND you get the shirt.....AND you get a ruby/sapphire poster. so, if you are still holding back, it might be a good time to splurge. the t shirts, i will mention, are a youth size large. they fit me fine, but if you are larger than an average twelve to fourteen year old, it'll be a tight squeeze.

hmm......the news keeps on coming. got to tide you over for a while after all. now, you may have heard already that nintendo is taking applications for TO's.....ipgeek has a link to the application on his site, www.ipgeek21.com (if you've never been there, go check it out. he has some great photo albums from past events) so thank you to ipgeek for passing the info along!

TO application

gloom was busy today. he has written an indepth article on the sneaselkingkrow archetype, the first in a series of deck profiles. take it away, gloom.....

Hi all, Gloom here! Tonight the first Deck Profile is ready for your
viewing. What is a Deck Profile? Well, basically it's a rundown of a
major deck type, discussing what it is, why it's effective, how it
works, and how it can work for you! Each one will include a template
declist for what is usually seen in the deck, a decklist for a version
I, or another, is currently using as an example, and a description of
how the deck is run. Of course, comments and perhaps a bit of history
will abound. ;D Without any ado, tonight's Profile is on
SneaselKingKrow, and I'd better cut this intro short since it's reallyquite extensive. :D

sneaselkingkrow

we're still not done!!! ech spent a bit of time today fixing up the r/s sprite index. we've got all the art we have linked now, so feel free to use what is there for your fake card needs. just make sure to credit the artist.

where can i get a good picture of.....

aaaaaaaaand last but not least, as long as we are back on tour, you might as well take a look at some yugioh content. hiro sent in scans of the promos from stairway to the destined duel. take a look!

harpy's feather duster
sinister serpent
and um, valkyrion the magnet warrior but that scan isnt working for some reason...

thanks hiro!

that was an action packed update.....anyways, if we can get internet access on the tour we'll see about keeping the updates coming. if not, we'll see you on monday, and have a great weekend!

don't forget, if you missed out on yesterday's update, be sure to go check out the info on pokemon heroes.

quote of the day:

mars: *gets out chain armor and sports jacket and helm with cat ears on it*
purity: i thought he said
purity: 'cat EATERS' not cat ears
mars: the cat eaters are on the back^
mars: you have to attach them yourself
purity: oh, ok
mars: *allows the cat eaters to run around the room on break*
gizmo: Oo;;;
gizmo: You can't eat the cats!
mars: no, of course I can't
mars: that's why I have cat eaters

hi there, pure here! let's give ech a bit of a break and i'll update! let's see what i can come up with for you....

well, i went to the pokemon center today, to check out the spring fling. today was trading day...no one really had good trades. there were several people looking for things like rayquaza...or your starter....without anything really good in return. sadly, there really wasn't any new adv merchandise either. aaww.... BUT i was happy to see john and damien there. i hadn't seen either of them for a while, and i did worry maybe they didn't work there anymore. i didn't get to talk much, but it looks like the catch em all station will be reopening in may. ruuuumor has it that the eon ticket will be the first promotional giveway in it.....i think it will gear up to coincide with the movie release. stay tuned to zeo and/or www.pokemon.com to keep up to date on the machine. also, bolt2k4 informs us that the center is holding a tournament this sunday, starting at 11:00 am. if you haven't played in a center tournament yet, bear in mind that league play and tournaments are held in the rockefeller concourse, and not in the store.

speaking of the movie release.....that's coming up soon you know! may 16th will see the launch of the fifth pokemon title in theaters. hopefully the center will offer another promotion for this movie, like they did with the other one. here's a press release and some screenshots for/from the new film that we got from miramax...

read all about it

poster

screen shot two
screen shot three

meanwhile, you can keep up to date with everything official on the movie at the official site for the movie.....

pokemon heroes!

still haven't seen the trailer? check it out....

here!

scope out those fine titanium powerbooks while you're at it. ;)

let's see....gloom has an ateleir update for us too! why not go take a look at that? here's gloom to tell us all about it....

Up tonight is a Dark Gatr/Noctowl deck that focuses on disruption and denial - very cool, and I loooooooove Genesis Noctowl. Another focused, balanced deck from long-time contributor Bullados that receives a tweak and a bit of a strategic skew. Keep sending those
decks in!

dark noc lock

oh! and over at www.wizards.com, dark mike has another article on sealed decks that's worth checking out...here it is!

sealed deck option #4

hmmm......and i think that will just about do it for me tonight. we were hoping to launch something big this week but time is getting away from us, so you may have to wait until next week.....altho who knows? we're back on the tour this weekend, so weekend updates may be sporadic. but, we will see you tomorrow!

quote of the day:

ech: mike [hummel] said that they would need around the clock volunteers for gencon to work at the ude booth... @_@
Marril2k: crazy
ech: and then people demoing/judging from 8am - 4am
Gloom: oh wow, for a moment
Gloom: I thought you said
Gloom: echidnadsn: mike [hummel] said that they would need around the clock volunteers for gencon to work at the nude booth... @_@
Gloom: whew
purity: im not volunteering for that

its all about the tourney scene today!

we're into tournament season and gencon, origins and super battlezone are coming up sooner than we expect.... the latter being held at the end of may... origins in late june, and of course... gencon in july. all of 'em have great pokemon events lined up (of course battlezone is ALL pokemon) as well as a ton of other tcgs, minatures, board games, and unexploded cows at origins and gencon.

as mentioned yesterday, pure set up an
origins & gencon check in topic in the forums... and of course we're taking all deck fixes in the atelier to get your deck fixed up for skyridge and beyond...

now then, to help you with your planning of time and... sleeping (yeah, you want to do that sometime... like i should be ;)) marril has set up some pages outlining when the pokemon, yugioh, and risk events are being held... or at least some of them.

mmmm.....

i like risk2210. i've only actually played it once, but i admit that its a really great game. in fact...

risk is now officially sanctionable under dci rules ^_^

the official dci floor rules for risk 2210 were posted (only in word format right now.... pdf coming soon!) on the dci webpage yesterday.. so familiarize yourself with them and start making your own risk tourneys!

i think the first big scale risk tourneys are scheduled to take place at origins and gencon this year, and we've started a sign in post over in the forums! we should be able to make it to both.... gencon for certain, origins is almost certain....

anyway, make certain to
check in and tell us if you're going! lets see how many people we can get out there to the events!

Kakuna gulped down the candy, finished it off in a pinch;
then he started to feel warm, and his stomach jumped a whole inch!

He suddenly began glowing and growing as well;
He could feel his body split and break off his shell!

His wings rolled out, now that he had eaten his fill;
Baring large needles and stingers, he was finally a strong
Beedrill!

He said his thanks to neighbor Ratatta, then leapt for the air;
He knew what to do, he'd give that Pidgey a scare!

He buzzed across the field, stingers and spears bared;
From the sky he was able to spot the bird's lair.

He zoomed in and landed on a branch outside Pidgey's nest;
He reared back a stinger, jabbed it out forward, and was ready to give it his best!

He stopped his stinger with dead precision aim,
He heard a sound like before, but it wasn't the same.

He looked down into the nest, which he nearly splintered into sticks;
Nestled down chirping was a group of 5 Pidgey chicks!

So that's why Pidgey had given them such torment and grief!
But Beedrill wasn't worried, he sighed with relief.

Right on time, mother Pidgey appeared;
And charged at Beedrill with her sharp talons reared.

Beedrill rolled and dodged with such ease,
and caught Pidgey's attention, and pointed down from the trees.

In the shade of a tree, on the ground, near a well;
Was a small green bush that grew Bluk Berries, which Pidgeys love so well.

The Pidgey was grateful, her appreciation showed no end;
It seems as though, perhaps, maybe, bird and bug types can indeed be friend!

Beedrill and Wurmple, Pidgey and her kin;
Lived happily ever after. Thank you. The End!

quote of the day:
I honestly think he's just confused,
like one of those scorpions which wanders into a
new house cause it remembers that area being desert...

its been a while, but the atelier is now back in full swing as pk updated with a new deck over in the deck atelier.

he looked at a modified charizard deck, tweeking it to take advantage of some of the good cards from expedition and aquapolis.

and remember to send in all your decks for us to fix 'em! skyridge and sbz2 is coming!

Back again, it's time for more;
Let's see for poor Kakuna what's in store...

Last time he barely escaped the evil Pidgey with his life in tact;
He had quick reflexes and was quick also to act.

When after the scuffle, he dove, fell, rolled into a wall;
But it was tough enough an experience for him to evolve!

He hopped over to his digging neighbors' hole;
Their dirt scratching friend,
Ratatta, his story he told.

'I'd love to help you', said Ratatta, who seemed somewhat uneased;
'But I need your help first, for someone's stealing my seeds!'

Kakuna camped outside his neighbor's front door;
To catch the thief and receive the help he implored.

He figured the bandit would small, agile and thin,
But he was very surprised to find it was a
Gulpin!

He swiftly blocked the entrance to his neighbors' pantry, quick as a Kakuna could;
But this Gulpin was tricky, slinging out sludge, and dissolving the door made of wood!

Kakuna had to move fast, and avoid being hit;
'I've got to be careful' he thought 'not to get sucked into that bottomless pit!'

He dodged and he parried, and tackled and thrust,
and tried using Poison Sting, hoping to make Gulpin bust.

It was a tricky battle, one not easily won;
But finally, after a long struggle, Gulpin was done!

Gulpin wiggled away, and Ratatta congratulated him with a prize most dandy;
The hardest of items to find, a tasty Rare Candy!

Will this delicious treat be enough to make Kakuna evolve to what he yearns to be?
Come back tomorrow for the 3rd part conclusion, and we will see!

quote of the day:

we have to do eggs still
Shark: you do eggs?
phat: we color them, and then my mom hides them,
and then two weeks later we wonder what that horrible stench is

Happy Easter

Happy Easter Zeo! Marril here with your Easterful update. Well next weekend its back on the road for Zeo’s Tour Four, Pure, Ech, Poinko and Gloom as they venture out on round two of the Yu-Gi-Oh Tour. It seems that Upperdeck Entertainment has locked in the route for round two of the tour, just finalizing some malls is left. Why not take a look, Zeo’s own Tour Four could be in your backyard shortly:

The Japanese Pokémon Trading Card Game website recently got a makeover with a brand new Advanced look to match the new card layout released recently. As you can see those fun crazy little circles are shown in various places along with the little name box thingy. For some reason, the site seems to give off a cold feeling to me…

A small bit of information from pure that just came in, it seems that this month’s Coro Coro promo is Armaldo ex. Crazy little card, 160 Hit Points. Ah well, i guess its weakness to both grass and water fixes that. From the scan i am looking at, an interesting thing I just noticed was Advance promos are numbered ###/ADV-P (in this case, Armaldo ex is 013/ADV-p).

Play Dungeons & Dragons? Play the Pokémon Trading Card Game? Going to be in the New Hampshire/northern Massachusetts area on Sunday, April 26-27? Why not stop by Games Weekend, a 2-day gaming convention put on by the store I run my Pokémon BattleZone at? This month’s celebrity guest is the creator of Dungeons & Dragons, Gary Gygax, who will be making an appearance at the convention on the 27th. Through the store, you can enter a raffle to be one of the exclusive ten that will play a game of D&D with Mr. Gygax. If you don’t play D&D and/or not selected to play in his game, why not stop by the Pokémon table, where I will be running a DCI Sanctioned tournament at 1:00pm est. Just bring your 60 card deck ready to play, format is Unlimited, admission is free, everyone walks away with something. Here is a fun flyer the store was handing out for the past month or so:

For more information on Games Weekend, check out the store’s site at JumpGateLink.com (link to Jumpgate).

That concludes today’s update, but first, congratulations to Legendary Dog, Politode3, ThaBouncer1329, and Freon de Glace in solving my last week’s forum signature image. If you want me to mention your name at the end of my next update, try solving my new puzzle in my forum signature, just look for a post by me, good luck. Have a great day everyone,

-marril

Last Update: 4:30am

pure went on a scanfest the past two days, and we have a ton of new corocoro stuff to post over the next couple days!

the first part is tonight, with march's coro coro update. lots of new and interesting toys, and games, and also some great pics from the sixth movie, even tho we dont know too much about it. ..well... I don't know too much about it. maybe pure can remidy that with the rest of the stuff we have for later in the week.... :)

....and now to turn it over to poinko.... [wanders out of the update and goes to sleep]

It's time for another Pokemon Storytime here at Zeo! Now, with everything going on in the world today, sometimes we just need a nice, little story to make us feel better about ourselves, don't we? So let's begin! *opens up a huge, dusty book*

This is a story, presented in rhyme;
The second part of which'll be done some other time.

It's about a small Weedle, so small and so bold;
And his good friend
Pidgey.

The bad bird tormented our two bug-type heroes to no end;
While Pecking and Tackling and making a Whirlwind.

Weedle wanted to stop the bad bird, but he was a shrimp, a weakling;
It seems, however, the key to win would be evolving!

He asked his friend Wurmple the best way to grow big;
'The answer' he said, 'is easy, visit our neighbor, who's the master of Dig.'

But how to get to the neighbors' home without being caught by the flying-type bird...
He peeked out his hole, and looked around a bit, the bird was asleep, so he kicked up some dirt.

Weedle tore ground across the large field, kicking up leaves, dirt and sticks;
What he didn't notice was that Pidgey had become wise to his sneaky tricks!

Pidgey leapt from his branch and screamed across the sky;
He darted into the field, snatched Weedle in his claws and began to fly high!

Weedle wiggled and squirmed, but all his work was to no avail;
Until Weedle swung up his stinger, and stabbed Pidgey right in the tail!

The Pidey squawked and cried, and suddenly let go, dropped Weedle down;
And Weedle fell from the sky, headed right for the ground!

Weedle landed rather hardly, but some grass broke his fall
But whatever happened did the trick, Weedle began to evolve!

Weedle felt weird, he began to grow big, why couldn't this happen sooner?
Suddenly he stopped growing, and stared down at what he had become...
KAKUNA!!!!

But Weedle wasn't done, there was still work to do;
If he was going to grow more, and drive Pidgey away too.... This is it for right now, I'm finished, I'm through;
So come back tomorrow to read up on part two!

bad. badder. badderer.
[mars] hehehe
[ech] or should that be badderest?

Last Update: 5:30am

spring is in the air everywhere.... especially the pokemon center, where pure got us some info about the upcoming spring fling...

i went to the center yesterday, and picked up some of the flyers for next week's festivities....or i guess i should say the festivities for the end of this week into next. starting saturday, the center will be holding some events to promote ruby/sapphire and the new pokemon. we've got a scan of the schedule here, so you can take a look at it, but i'll give you a fast rundown!

each day, they will be giving out a free gift with any purchase. no word on what the gifts are, but they will change each day. usually they give out some nice stuff. new merchandise featuring the new pokemon will also go on sale. no one was there to give me information on what it might be, so i guess i'll just have to go check it out myself.....at any rate, here is what the week has to offer....

saturday april 19th -- from 12;30 to 2;30, radio disney party patrol will be there. from 2;30 til 3;30, you can get your picture taken with new pokemon characters. keen!

sunday, april 20th -- from 12:30 1:30, pictures with new characters. from 1;30 to 3;30, face painting and balloon sculptures. the facepainting and sculptures are free, and the people who do em (mad hatters) are really good, and nice.

all week: 12:30 to 1:30 have your pictures taken with pokemon characters!

monday, april 21st r/s tournament day!: bring your r/s game cart, and your gba or gbasp, for one of the following times: 11-12, 1;30-2;30, and 3;30 -4;30. three tournaments being offered, no details yet on pokemon levels, or prizes, or anything like that. the center will provide link cables.

tuesday april 22nd -- 1;30 - 3;30. pokemon trivia challenge, with prizes!

wednesday april 23rd -- 1;30 - 3;30, r/s trading day. bring your game carts and gba's or gbasps to trade pokemon with other pokemon fans. cables will be provided.

thursday april 24th -- 1;30-3;30, balloon sculptures

friday april 25th -- 1;30 -3;30, face painting. maybe i should drop by on my way to the airport?

the center did seem to be sold out of the starter pvc's....so far, treecko, torchic and mudkip are the only adv pokemon available. they are also featured on some cloisonné keychains.

the catch em all station is still closed, and again all of the usual people i talk to when i go in to get information were'nt there. i hope they still work there....anyways, i'll swing by the center again next week to check out the spring fling.

ready for the next set of pokemon cards? well, ready or not skyridge is coming! in fact, it was announced in last night's chat that pokemon skyridge will be officially released on may 5th! mark it on your calenders!

Aim for the Sky!

The Pokémon-e: Skyridge set has 6 Pokémon with the new Crystal Type Poké-Body power that lets them handle whatever types of Energy you want to deal out. This exciting set also introduces evolved Pokémon with healing abilities that activate whenever you attach Energy, as well as an exciting, new mechanic&emdash;Mystery Plate.

Each deck contains 26 Energy cards, 3 rare cards, 11 uncommon cards, some in multiples, and 20 common cards, some in multiples, for a total of 60* cards.
*This total does not include the random foil card.

Some cards can be run through the e-Reader (for the Game Boy Advance) to unlock additional functions. Each sold separately.

and dont forget to check out the rest of yesterday's chat!

aaaaand... last up we have a new card by poinko with art by marril! [checks his email] ....that cant be right.... card by poink and art by marril.... dont we mean.... but... and then..... but..... aaaaah.... brain. hurts.

its been quite a while, but gloom is now fully available and he's once again doing some articles for us! woooo!

now to just get the other atelierites doing some fixes and articles. well... they actually CANT do fixes because we dont have any decks to fix! of course... you could remidy that. i mean, super battlezone IS coming up in a month.... dont you want to get your deck as decked out as can be?

send in YOUR decks to
decks@sugarshock.net

Hi all, Gloom here, finally back and able to write 'til classes kick
in oh... five months or so from now. First up, tonight, is the
long-delayed and hopefully long-awaited (hehe) second half of the
previous article on Fields of Control. This one deals with the last
three fields - Energy, Ease of Trainer Use, and Damage - and wraps up
the article as a whole. Soon this column will be fused with the
previous one as part of a full suite on the theory and strategy behind
the Pokemon TCG, but for now they will remain seperate. I'll be working
on some more Analysts and full deck articles in the coming weeks: good
to be back in more of a working capacity! :D

-Gloom

well..... as you may or may not know, gencon is coming up sooner than we all think. in fact its in like what.... 15 weeks? bleh, not much time.

anyway, good old marril has wandered his way through the maze that is the gencon site, and has brought us all the pokemon events that are listed!

now we've also been told that there will be ongoing battlezone throughout the weekend, so these are all the additional events thats wotc is hosting.

quote of the day:
gloom: Ok well... just understand that a beta test,
is a game after hundreds or thousands of hours of testing.
cal yup...
gloom: If you test software, or a game,
it's your job to do boring, inane things all day. every day
cal: test the same thing over and over,
changing the slightest detail and finding every
step to causing the bug/glitch, yadda yadda yadda
purity: no, testing eye makeup, that would suck
'AAAHHH! CAUSTIC! CAUSTIC!'

>_<

ok, i have no idea what happened, but 90% of my update mysteriously vanished, so i gotta do it over again.... [snarls]

ok, pokemon box, take two!

well, one of the two pokemon gamecube games was announce recently. i say 'one of the two' because there are supposedly two new pokemon gcn games coming out, and i say 'game' because well... its not so much a game as it is a pokemon mass cold storage.

pokemon box is just as the name implies, its a box to store your pokemon. using a gba, pokemon ruby or sapphire, and a gba-gcn link cable, you can transfer your pokemon to the big screen for easier storage. and massive storage. pokemon box has psace to accomadate 1500 of your prized pokemon.. i know, i know... so hard trying to figure out which 1500 to save onto the disc... [looks at his 13 pokemon] but dems da breaks ;)

in addition to the pokemon zoo, there is also increased stats pages, pokemon spreadsheets, and a gallery type thing where you can display your prized pokes to your friends. the gallery looks a bit odd tho. i mean, it isnt so much pokemon as it is pokemon in placards on sticks.... o_O

anyway, as we were talking about this, pure came up with a very interesting scenario. we already know that all 386 pokemon are coded into rs, right? and we also know that without cheating there is no way to get any of those pokemon into rs. well.... what if this was finally the way to bring all your old pokemon up to speed? wouldnt it be cool to finally bring over your glorious gs team [looks at his 27 pokemon in crystal] or that original killer kanto konvoy that you had a few years ago [looks at his non exsistant copy of rby]

i mean think about it. who in all honesty is going to GET 1500 pokemon just from rs alone? it almost seems overkill to me.... but, if you include all the pokemon from rby, and all the pokemon from gsc.... well, perhaps we're getting somewhere.

of course this idea is farfetch'd.... i mean far fetched, but still.... we dont have ALL the details about the game, and its still over a month until its released... perhaps more will come at the E3 next month.. or maybe even sooner.

the game is to be released in japan on may 30th, with a street price of 2000¥ for the game and a memory card 59, or 2800¥ for the addition of a gba-gcn link cable. no release for north america has been announced yet.

keeping up with original art every day, we have a great new kecleon from poinko! hmmm... you can see how good ole kecleon is blending into the backgroun... which uh right now happens to be white, but if it was something else, he'd be blending into that!

it has a nice water color style... kinda reminicant of the banette that pure did. of course poink said that he tried to model it after that, so thats probably the reason :D

happy tuesday everyone!

it is now half way through april already.... wow, that means we've had two whole weeks off from the tour, and now less than a week left.... :( no, wait.... 10 days. thats more than a week, but less than a fortnight.

or something like that. ô_o

ok, so i didnt get a chance to move the adv2 list over to the actual adv2 page... so it has been spared from being archived.... for now.....

so what DID we do all day?

well, if you recall we have a thing called the 'r-s pokedex' and in that we had all the sprites and sugimori pictures of the new pokemon.... give or take a couple.

but what about poor kanto and johto.... already gone and forgotten....

<sniff>

or HAVE they? through a loooooooooot of scanning and linking and a collaborative effort of myself, poink, and marril we finally have sugimori pics up of ALL THREE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SIX POKEMON!!!!
*
ok, we're actually missing 5... but thats 5 out of 386, so like we almost have all of 'em... we just gotta find out where those rogue pics went.... heeeeere rogue pics..

so yeah... dont forget, these pics are here for you to use! use them on cards! use them on art! use them to take over the world! mwahahahaha!

aaaaaand in addition to all the sugi pics, we also have a couple new pics from that plucky poinko!
