So then I can let Snorlax die and let Misdreavus take the lead for kicking some Pokémon, if a Baby comes in the way Dark Gengar will do the charm, the Full Heals are just in case I get asleep with one of the Drowzees with Misdreavus in front, Gold Berry are just there because i didn't know what to put instead XD. Please answer fast, I'm starting to loose matches, and that cannot be happening, hehe. Anyways, thank you very much. Nova had this to say in response: No problem; that’s what we’re here for. I don’t tend to trust the mighty Dark Gengar in modified, I’ve just played it too long in Unlimited to really go for it in modified. Among other things, I’ve found that metal decks are a huge weakness of the deck, and there’s pretty much no way of dealing with a deck like that other than energy removal (or misdreavus, if you’re feeling lucky). But just because I’m feeling generous, I’ll quit talking about how I feel, and move on to fixing the deck despite my personal feelings. It’s what I get paid for. *snickers at the thought of being paid* All right, we’ll start off with a quick pokemon adjustment. Totally against most of my morals, I’m going to leave both the misdreavus and drowzees in there, just because it’s possible that, in modified, where there are no energy removals to get in your way, misdreavus actually stands kind of a backwards chance of possibly working, and drowzee helps along with that. The fact that it could be your own pokemon eating the dust kind of stinks, but just promise to use its power sparingly and everything will come out in the wash. I’m going to trust in the general instinct that they might be somewhat helpful, and leave them both there. The change I’m going to make is an important one: Get snorlax the heck out of there. He might serve as a staller, but he’s just spare prizes for your opponent. And he serves no purpose other than stalling. Every card in the deck should serve a purpose other than stalling. So I’m going to replace your snorlaxes and one of your drowzees with three of the fleet-footed supporter, cleffa. He’ll speed up your deck and there’s a fifty-fifty chance they can’t kill him. Gooood stuff, trust me. That should be about it for pokemon. Your trainers are definitely looking pretty good overall. Just a few minor adjustments. Toss the Bill’s Maintenances for a couple of Copycats, and drop a trader for another. That makes three copycats. I also won’t feel good about leaving this deck with drowzee in it until I put in at least one more full heal, which I’ll sacrifice an energy for, being the only real expendable target left. I’ll also leave the gold berries, being a toss-up between the berries and some focus bands. Both will help, but heck, I chose the berries. At least, my coin did. Feel free to toss your own coin, or make the decision based on which you have more of. That about covers the changes to trainers. Energy, obviously, will remain largely unchanged. The only thing I really have to say about this deck is that it’s kind of strained in the numbers of a few of its trainers, and yet I hesitate to drop energy to fill it up. If you find that you’re energy-heavy most of the time, drop a few energy and fill in some of your trainers to threes and fours. If you also find that your gengars hit the floor long before they become useful, you might consider a couple of Rocket’s Hideouts, increasing their longevity. If all else fails, you can drop the drowzees, as they might end up getting in your way more than they’re worth, unfortunately. But I’ll leave it the way it is for now, and wish you the best of luck with it.
