4 DCE 18 Psychic Energy ‘Dave’ had this to say about his deck: Nova had this to say in response: I can’t help but love decks like this. When there are no specific requests, and absolutely no indication as to what the strategy could possibly be, I can make all the assumptions I want, and drop just about anything! This, however, is pretty clearly a damage swap deck, with Sabrina’s Golduck and Espeon thrown in for good measure. And coincidentally, it looks like a pretty good deck. But I still have a few suggestions. Firstly, get rid of the blissey. I know, I know, softboiled. But it’s not worth sacrificing your really, really useful chansey for. Trust me; in the long run, you’ll regret it. As much as I like the espeons, I’m going to advise that you drop them as well. The scythers, too, unless those form the backbone of your attack force, which they probably shouldn’t, and probably won’t, in a minute, in any case. The golducks’ll come in pretty darn useful, so I’ll leave them in (besides, they’re in the deck’s name. Come on, I couldn’t drop those.) With the cards I just freed up, increase your abras to four, your psyducks to four, your golducks to three, and the chanseys to four, and toss in two unown N for good measure. It’ll all make sense in a minute. Your trainer set looks like basically what I’d go for personally in a damage swap deck, with a few variations, most of which can be summed up in one word: QUANTITY. You’re using great cards, just not enough of them. So right now, I’m going to advise that you take out the breeder fields and add an oak and an elm, and then add two gold berries, two item finders, and three scoop ups. To compensate for that massive influx of cards, drop the energy removals, as much as it pains me to do so. The rest of the cards are vital; the removals are just kind of window dressing. That still leaves you in the hole by two cards, so drop energy to even it out. That shouldn’t affect your performance too adversely, it leaves you with plenty of energy. Oh, and then exchange four psychics for four metal. Basically what’s happened here is that I turned your deck into a damage swapper, with sabrina’s golduck thrown in for that extra bit of scrumptious support. It remains your primary attacker, with chansey throwing in a helping hand now and then. What does the deck need? A gym, and ideally some way of getting energy back, like energy charge. Give the deck a try, and if you think you can get by on eight psychic energy, switch two out for two healing fields. But other than that, this deck should run fairly smoothly.
