ILC Said: Ya it's basically good ol' Kindgra Steelix, but for some reason it doesn't work. I keep constantly getting mulligans, hands with like 1 basic and 6 useless cards, or just very very bad hands. I mean I use Copycat and then elm, and the best card I get is well the elm. I shuffled this deck to death, and in multiple ways, but still the same old thing. I ended of dropping Breeder for Bill, so I could get more cards in my hand. Could you help me out? Gloom said: Well… You’re seeing a lot of useless cards for a few reasons. First off, your Pokemon balance is a bit off. Tyrogue is nice, but you could use a Pichu or two as well. Tyrogue is usually used as a cover for when you’re recovering from having your main built attacked taken out – however, this is a one-energy swarm deck variant, so it’s not needed nearly so much. Does it tech ‘Buzz and Ampharos? Yeah. But realistically you won’t see either of those played very much in the current modified environment. So, we’re going to rebalance your Pokemon a bit and add a few in. As a main point though, we’re going to switch your Genesis Kingdra to Rev Kingdra. By your statement “good ol’ Kingdra Steelix”, you seem to think this oft-seen combo uses Genesis Kingdra, instead of Revelation. Which is probably why the deck is losing so much. For the energy, well, you’re basically missing the entire point of Kingdra since you were using the wrong one. We’re going to toss in four recycle energy for the Rogues, and, of course, the Kingdra. I’m also probably going to huck out some of the water. For the Trainers, your drawing engine is skewed improperly. You want as many topdeck cards as possible, so instead of running 4/4/2 elm/trader/copycat, you’d want to be running 4/2/4. One town Volunteers is fine, but the Gold Berries are quite excessive and, well, they aren’t Pokemon Centers. Kingdra looooooves Pokemon Center, and even Pokemon nurse, so I’m going to toss in Center and encourage you to try Pokemon Nurse on your own. The No-Name Deck: Gloom’s Fix Pokemon: 22

There. Far more streamlined, with the correct evolutions and drawing engine. It’ll run tighter, faster, more reliably, and now you can use the “get a bunch of damage on the kingdras and then Pokemon center it off cause you paid with Recycle energies” combo that everybody loves to… well, they don’t love to hate it - they just hate it. :D Thanks for sending it in!
