Blurby Said:  That's my old Wiggly-Hay which won me 99% of my games at my league. Strength and lots of card power made this thing excel. It was truly lethal when it got to full strength. I know the deck is generic, but still it was extremely powerful as I said. Buzz/Scyther/Wiggly was always the perfect trio for me.  I REFUSED to mess with Sneasel ever, and when, on rare occasions I came across a Sneasel deck back long ago, my Electabuzzs or Wigglytuffs would quickly dispatch it. The deck is quite well-rounded in weaknesses/resistances...Scyther and R.Zappy keep fighting types from obliterating Buzz and Wiggly. My trainers are like they usually are...nothing out of the ordinary here, but mainly cards that keep giving you more and more cards like Oak, Elm, Bill, and CPU.

Gloom Said:  Now, originally, Blurby’s letter had a lot more meat to it because it was his swan song leaving here, but, shortly after sending this in, he decided to return to zeo and gaming in general, so, I politely edited out any parts that might be a bit unnecessary with his interests in mind.  However, I do want to thank Blurby for the kind words he gave me specifically – thanks Blurbs.

Now, let’s see about the deck.  Pokemon look totally solid, in fact, the entire deck does, but what we’re missing here is tech.  Technically, as per Blurby’s description, the Rocket’s Zapdos is mostly there to counter fighting, and with only two in the deck, I’m willing to assume it’s mostly here with that intent.  It’s technically tech, but it’s not the kind of tech we need – specifically, we need something to counter SneaselKingKrow.  So I’m going to go ahead and change the deck a bit, and remove the two Zappies for two Pichu.  This’ll cause a need for a redone energy balance as well, so that’ll change.  Now, you could just use SI Jigglypuff as tech instead, and keep the Zaps, but they really require a good deal of trainer support and they really change the deck’s focus.

Let’s handle the energy first.  With the high-energy Zapdos gone, we can afford to drop the total a little.  I’m going to aim for 12-13.  I’m going to ditch 4 Lightning for 4 Recycle.  You might want to experiment with Warp too, if you ever get the chance.  I’ll drop two more Lightning Energy as well.

I’m going to re-balance the trainers, given that we’ve got a little bit more room, and I thought you were lacking in proper board and energy control.  I dropped an ER, added four SER to take advantage of the four new Recycle Energy, dropped the Bills because you already had enough draqwing, added in an item finder, and toned down the Tools.  A lot of the time, Tools will just be useless.  I kept two focus band and only one Gold Berry, simply because Focus is more important against Sneasel, and to keep your Pichus going when you need them.  I tossed in an Energy Charge and a Town Volunteers – in my mind, these are necessary pieces of recursion.  Soooooo, let’s see it.

"Down Memory Lane: A Trip Back With Wigglytuff and Associates" – Gloom’s Fix

13 Energy:
4 Double Colorless Energy
4 Recycle
5 Lightning Energy

18 Pokemon:
4 Jigglypuff (Jungle)
3 Wigglytuff (Jungle)
3 Electabuzz (Base)
3 Scyther (Jungle)
3 Cleffa (NG)
2 Pichu

29 Trainers:
4 Professor Oak
3 Energy Removal
4 SER
2 Focus Band
3 Computer Search
3 Item Finder
1 Gold Berry
2 Gust
2 Switch
3 Professor Elm
1 Energy Charge
1 Town Volunteers

There we go.  That should run with a great deal more control, and have a far better chance against decks using Slowking.

Thanks for sending it in Blurby!
