this section has still not been 100% completed....just so you know.....

it seems like everyone has one of these hats....

ever wanted your very own team rocket uniform?

well, no one seems to sell team rocket uniforms, (but those damn ash hats are everywhere...) so you're gonna have to make your own. you'll need some sewing experience to make a really good one, so if you don't have any sewing experience a) get some--sewing is such a useful skill to have! or b) start ingratiating yourself to someone who *does* have some sewing experience. i take costumes &etc. pretty seriously, so i like mine to look authentic. but for the sake of those who don't have a lot of time, the necessary skills, or whatever, i've also got suggestions for how to pull something fairly easy together.

the patterns i will provide here will need to be scaled up and altered. that sounds hard, but i'll give you some instructions on how to do it. no one is allowed to email me and complain that i dont have multi sized patterns...that's a lot more work than i feel like doing right now, so for now you're stuck with the female versions in my size, which is pretty small. i will do the male versions in a size more easily adaptable, tho.

let's get started, shall we?

ok....what's wrong with these pictures?

oh the horror.....

several things actually....the fabric sucks, the colors are wrong, and the shapes are wrong. i'm not even gonna talk about the wigs. the main mistakes i see here are--

1) the color of the gloves and altho i can't see them, i presume the boots as well.

look at 'em...they're black. jessie and james have dark grey boots and gloves. this is the most common error i see, mainly because black boots and gloves are a lot easier to find. since we are going to learn how to make them, this won't be as big of a obstacle now, will it?

2) the cut of the clothes. jessie's jacket has short sleeves, it is too long, and the waistline of the skirt is wrong. look at it...now let's take a look at the real jessie and james--jessies skirt goes down in a "v" in the front.

see the difference?

ok. now that we've taken a good comparative look, its time to get started!

i've broken up this section into the following pages, hopefully this will make things easier to understand....i suggest you start with the selecting fabrics and basic sewing pages, if you are relatively new at this. then move on to the uniform type you're interested in.
