FeZz sent this deck to me. Here's what he's got to say: "Hey Dug, what's going on? How was your time off? I hope you had fun! Anyway, BACK TO WORK! ^_^() lol joking.... Here's a grass deck I made up...It's
a lockdown deck....the idea of this deck is to use Erika's Vileplume to
switch out useless babies so Murkrow can Mean look them, then the fun starts!!!!
P.S.- This is still STS format.
If it wouldn't be too difficult, could you make it so it's fixed non-sts
AND sts way? [I don't know, I like the STS format, that's why ^_^()]
21 Energy
22 Pokémon
17 Trainers
By the way, Fezz said he couldn't think up a name and asked me to think one up. Gladly! How's Venomous Trap? =) I think you need to consolidate your Pokémon a bit. We need to figure out what your strategy should be: disruption and status madness by Dark Muk and Dark Vileplume, or disruption and beatdown with Erika's Victreebel. Both are good choices. Hey, let's go with both! =D Let's make Dark Muk/Vileplume the center of the Rocket On! formatted deck and Erika's Victreebel the unrestricted deck's center. Here goes... Venomous Trap (Erika's Victreebel Edition, or, Fragrant Edition) Obviously, with the Dark Muks and Dark Glooms/Vileplumes gone, your Boss's Way aren't needed. Neither are the Rocket's Training Gym. We'll look at the Trainers again in a minute though; first let's establish the Pokémon. Make the Bellsprouts represented by four copies. I suggest all Lv. 12's, since they can Poison first turn and do 30 damage with their other attack. They lose 20 damage first turn and 10 HP from the Lv. 13 version, but at least they don't hurt themselves... Take out a Weepinbel (we'll install Breeder in a second). If you can get a third Erika's Victreebel, that would be great, but it isn't needed. In the way of strong Basics, three Neo Discovery Scythers work well. I used them in my League matches today and they're great! Two heads out of four and you do 30 damage for 2 Energies. Get lucky with 3 heads and that's 50 damage... 4 heads and you can KO a Lickitung in one hit! (I did that once, too!) Also, a couple Ditto can even things up. Leave the Murkrow and Oddish in as well... they're good. Now, back to the future... er, um, back to the Trainers. ^_^' Trainers! Plop in two Pokémon Breeder like I said before. Add in three Gold Berry and three Berry (Berry is useful for Oddish and Murkrow, who only have 50 HP... Scyther's 60 can also be a bit low). Exchange Sabrina's Gaze for Professor Oak, and improve it to three copies. Take out Erika (since it helps your opponent too, something I personally am not keen on) in favor of Computer Search, three of them. Erika's Maids, Rocket's Sneak Attack, and Celedon City Gym are all fine choices. Finally, the Energy. You really don't need the Rainbow Energies, so drop them for Double Colorless Energies (Ditto can use them). Bring Grass down to 15 so you don't overkill on them. Here's the Standard Format decklist: 20 Energy
18 Pokémon
22 Trainers
Venomous Trap (Dark Muk/Dark Vileplume Edition, or, Dark Edition) With the Victreebel line gone, we've freed up space to strengthen our existing lines. Bring Grimer to 4 and Dark Muk to 3. I suggest Fossil Grimers due to their 10 greater Hit Points and ability to do 10 damage and Paralyze with one Colorless Energy. Also add another Oddish and Dark Gloom. Celadon City has no further use without Victreebel's line, so drop it. Erika's Maids also can be lost. Bring Sabrina's Gaze up to three and turn the Erikas into Master Balls (for the same reason as above; it gives your opponent the same advantage). Throw two Gold Berry in this time since your Pokémon have lower Hit Points overall, and add four Berry. Round out the Trainers with a pair of Double Gust. The Energy is pretty good, but I suggest removing a Grass Energy for another Darkness Energy if you have one available. Okay! Here's the "block" format for this deck: 21 Energy
22 Pokémon
17 Trainers
I hope you enjoyed that double-review, Fezz. Maybe you didn't expect that I'd split the deck up like that! =P That was darn fun actually, fixing the deck in both standard and block format. I should do that again sometime... -Dugtrio
